We'll be needing a list of playfiled numbers and the associated playfields in order to use this. I wrote a quick parser to generate a nice list based on the server status XML.

All the PF numbers are listed in "...\Anarchy Online\cd_image\twk" (including Coast of Peace and Coast of Tranquility, and I verified by going there).
Ohh and the xml got "Newland" and "Newland Desert" mixed up too.
So here's the same list (including coast of X) in alphabetical order.

Or, instead of a filelist like in \twk, as a simple readable file in

    \Anarchy Online\cd_image\data\launcher\pfnrmap.dat

which has all the backyards, shops, dungeons, APFs, battlestation instances, SL gardens and whatnot (couldn't find the new Xan areas tho). Basically, every single zone there is, even ones I've never heard of.

However, if this function will rely on these numbers, it'll be rather cumbersome to use unless there will be a way to find out those numbers quickly ingame (aside from a new command being added to player run bots that can look up the pf number of a submitted pf name).

For, what I would guess is, the intended use, you can press Shift-F9 and read off the coordinates and playfield number.

wtb a /printwaypoint command to post a clickable macro of your current position to the chat.

    Shift + F9

    Prints something like this:

    Extended location information:
    - 262.5, 285.2, 107.6 (262.5 285.2 y 107.6 540)
    [snip]

You need to paste the bold parts behind /waypoint in that order.

    So in this case:

    /waypoint 262.5 285.2 540

Or even, since AO doesn't recognize decimals in coordinates I believe:

    /waypoint 262 285 540

or to make it even easier:

    Get a marker to my position »» <a href="text://<center><font color=CCInfoHeadline>Waypoint Guide</div><p><font color=CCInfoText>Click the link (or image) below to get a marker on your map showing where I am<p><p><a href='chatcmd:///waypoint %2 %3 %9'><img src='rdb://11336'></u> Get coordinates</a>">Click here</a>
Save that as a script called mark

    Shift+F9 gives you:
    - 480.4, 485.9, 51.4 (480.4 485.9 y 51.4 4296144)

    copy that.
    type:
    /mark
    paste it, so it becomes:
    /mark - 480.4, 485.9, 51.4 (480.4 485.9 y 51.4 4296144)

and it will paste a link for others to upload the waypoint

    The basic code is: /waypoint %2 %3 %9
the rest is just making it a fancy panel. (taking the 2nd, 3rd and the 9th word in the line)

    Kind Regards
    Ariensky

(seems to only work in the PF you are in sadly.. nice feature though)

Sorry for necro but I have a question...

Is there a way to reset a /waypoint? It gets kind of annoying when you open a map and it points to a waypoint you don't need anymore.

    I tried /waypoint off, it doesn't work

You have "reset waypoint" button on your minimap. No idea on / command....
Have you tried something as simple as /waypoint without any coordinates?

Aha, didn't even remember the buttons. Thanks.

Not sure what I tried but I'll test that plain /waypoint today.

I doubt FC ever gave out a way to clean a waypoint with a /command, not publicly at least, but you can still force a waypoint reset by giving it a nonexistent or malformed coordinates, such as : "/waypoint . . ." or "/waypoint - - -"
(those will always throw an error message to the System chat, "No waypoint info available in mission data." but this will reset it)

A bit of a necro but they changed this one. Giving incorrect coords doesn't clear the waypoint anymore. You have to use the map buttons.

This didn't need fixing in my opinion.
