    Rivals in Academia?

IRRK Freelance: Two neutral universities have emerged into the public eye lately after tales of disputes between The University of Borealis and Mort Community College.

The University of Borealis has always been a prestigious university - so much so that it's motto was hacked on the gridnet to "We're so good, you'll probably never get in anyway".

Amusingly enough, the university itself has made no efforts to correct this motto, and it has become an integral part of the university's fame. Lead by Dr Alastaire Spencer, The University of
Borealis specialises in a dazzling array of complex courses such as Advanced Theoretical Metaphysics, or Quantum Nano-tech Engineering.

For those students not quite as dazzlingly bright or blindly rich, there has always been it's "rival", Mort Community College, equally famous for it's motto "There's always Hope", which speaks for itself in describing the college. I'm not quite sure if the link to the motto and the area Hope which Mort is based was accidental, but it sure is amusing.

The underdogs at Mort have always hated the Borealis academics, which in turn turn look down at the dodgy methods and cut-price research that Mort Community College adopts. Each have their own flaws and their own advantages, and despite their dislike for each other their only conflicts have been via yearly zigball tournaments staged between them.

Recently however, some Mort Community College students vandalised The University of Borealis main building, covering statues in tropical shirts and assorted hats. The University of Borealis did not see the humour in this at all however, and decided to ban anyone from Mort Community College participating in any University of Borealis associated research projects and expeditions.

Were the students in the right to protest? Was the action taken justifiable? Which university do you support?

Both need to come to Tir. The Tir School of Engineering with teach them much although they will by necessity have to pass a political-correctness class as WE all know how scandalous neutrals are. Perhaps then they might be able to answer the questions themselves?

Stuff 'em both, I say! Only real education worth a dang is done in the field! Usually while under fire, being chased by hostile wildlife, and trying to do repairs on your bot at the same time! Real Neutrals keep it independant and refuse to waste creds on educational fees when there're better things to spend them on. Like personal furnaces, carbonum plate, and beer!
I'm a Froob Neutral Trade Skilling Nanomage Engineer- by definition I hide round corners and let the bot do the fighting.
