I think it may be useful to determine where each Department's Headquarters is located. This can be useful for general RP and it would serve as a starting location for players to look for their Leaders when they log in since they would more than likely "spawn" in at the HQ.

Omni-R&D: The Omni-Lab building in the Omni-1 HQ District.

Omni-Pol: The Omni-Pol facility in the Omni-1 Entertainment District.

Omni-Pol: Omni-Pol Facility in Stret West Bank.

Omni-Med: The Omni-Med Facility in Omni-3's Green District where Prestin operated on Ross following his assassination.

OTAF: The Facility in Lush Fields Across from the Trade District, since Omni-1 Lacks a military facility that would function as Central Command.

OTAF: Dome Facilities in Avalon.

Assuming i'm correct with Omni-Pol 'run' Rome Blue, i guess it wouldn't be too far fetched having it there.

I'm sure there is a 'HQ building' in West Sret Bank near a training course.

The Remote Omni-Mine building is clearly marked as the HQ. If this Pol Building is, please send me a screen shot of it so I can verify (hell, send me one regardless). We can add the facility to the list to be considered, I'm just worried about difficulty reaching it easily.

I checked the planet map - Going from 2HO it's only a short run and a ferry ride to get to this outpost, which I don't think is too unreasonable for it to be pitched as the official HQ. What say you Pol'ers?

Which of the two do you prefer for the HQ?

I think the one in Ent is just a prison, not too sure.

Anyway the one in Stret West Bank looks much more HQ like, so i'd shoot for that one.

Double post ftw, i don't think we should ever know where InternOps HQ is - classified and all that. I'd pretty much say the same for Omni-Com, although i'm sure i read that Omni-Com HQ is underground somewhere.

Two things:

1) InternOps is Omni-Tek's Human Resources Department as well as it's Intelligence Agency. It should be quite visible.

2) Even the USA's CIA has an clearly marked HQ where it's Bureaucracy is housed, The George Bush Center for Intelligence in Washington, D.C. Langley, Virginia (No jokes :-| )

Regarding the Omni-Pol HQ:

I like the idea of the SWB facility. It's not too long of a Run from Borealis and the path is safe.

I'm only concerned that the location is too isolated.

Can ARK confirm whether or not this location is considered Pol HQ or if another location is?

Omni-Pol does not have an official HQ.

This being the case, I am making the following proposal:

Omni-Pol HQ is located at the Omni-Pol Facility in Stret West Bank.

The Stret West Bank HQ contains the offices of the Deputy Directors.

The Omni-Pol Facility in Omni-1 is the Capital Precinct HQ.

The Capital Police HQ houses the Office of the Director since it is local to Omni-1 HQ district and Ivan spends more time in Omni-1 than anywhere else.

Any thoughts on this proposal?

After more thinking and investigation;

I reverse my thoughts. I think the Ent facility would better serve as a HQ.

1) It's infront of the bridge to Omni-HQ and therefore makes more geographical sense than SWB.
2) Omni-Pol Secretary Lambeer is stationed in Ent.
3) The Omni-Pol barracks are in Ent forest
4) I assume due to the nature of Omni-Ent it is *the* most patrolled city, and causes the most trouble for Omni-Pol

Non-RPer chiming in due to boredom but slight interest.

Would any of the HQ's be located in Orbital Stations or the restricted zones? R&D locations tend to do well outside of easily accessible cities, and military or communications based HQ's could easily be located off the planet itself.

The AO page picture with the mechs and personel on top of a large orbital station made me think of this.

Not a bad idea, but i wouldn't think so. The orbital stations are quite new, whereas each department will have had a HQ for quite some time.

It also wouldn't make that much sense due to the unsecure location - constant bombardment by the Aliens, and continued efforts by the Clans to take them over.

I do however agree about restricted zones; it makes sense that for some HQs we just simply would never see them.

R&D being a bit remote would make sense. Which is also why I'd go for the facility in EFP as HQ, and possibly the labs in Omni-1-HQ as facility mainly for liaising with other departments / board of directors. Outzones are pretty hard to accomodate in this list as we don't know much about them other than some mining outposts, and a lot of alien strongholds. I would think R&D would want their main facility within terraformed Rubi-Ka for security reasons though (aliens raiding R&D HQ would definitely put humans in a disadvantage in the war).

Also, I think I'll second Cora in the Pol HQ. While SWB has an impressive building, the Omni-Ent location seems like a more practical choice.

What about the Domes in Avalon, which correlate to the Clan facilities in wailing Wastes? They are impressive, heavily defended facilities. Possible R&D?

The domes in Avalon are OTAF bases, as labeled on the map and evident from the NPC's in them. I believe they are used as forward bases to watch clan movements and deploy forces from where needed. (though I have not exactly studied npc dialogs from there, might do sometime)
