A Challenge for Kintaii

There has been a lot of finger pointing going on.

The players blame ARK and FunCom (and like to tell their stories of exactly why they feel this way).

ARK and FunCom like to blame the playerbase for being disengaged.

There is an underlying problem which I don't think people are discussing despite the fact that it is a huge problem.

People are too easily blackballed by ARK.

Not a very encouraging response.

My wife tried to join ARK, and she was told that she was Black Listed from joining – No reason given.

A friend of mine tried to join and was told they could not apply until the year 2150 – No reason given.

Kintaii, if you really want to convert your rhetoric into actions that can persuade behavior I implore you to issue a blanket pardon to the Roleplaying Community. Give the community another chance to serve and help. If they **** it up again, so be it, but give everyone an equal opportunity to help in these dire times.

As a sign of good faith and pure intent, I wish to be exempt from this. Keep me banned, but allow the others the chance to help.

We've actually been pretty forgiving when it comes to ex-ARKs who may not have left the program in the best of standing but want to come back - I can think of six individuals off the top of my head that I myself have worked with to see themselves back in the program, and several others that, while I wasn't personally involved, managed to overcome any outstanding issues fairly quickly that allowed them into the program.

If any of the people listed above haven't attempted applying in the last year or so, then I sincerely suggest doing so again - If you have a 'special needs' case, then by all means feel free to contact us and we can definitely discuss details a bit further. =)

Does this apply to those who were banned from ARK without ever being in ARK? Or is the pardon specifically for Banned Ex-ARKs?

I just found this thread today and wanted to introduce myself, and give you a bit of insight.

I'm Assistant Director Raizelon from ARK Academy. My team is in charge of the entire ARK Inductions process. I can confirm wholeheartedly what Kintaii is saying about us being far more forgiving than in the past on ex-ARKs returning and such.

Specifically, if you attempt to apply for ARK via our website at http://ark.funcom.com/Public and you get an error message about not being able to apply until sometime into the 22nd century (*grin*), please shoot my team an email at ark-induction@ark.anarchy-online.com or PM me here on the forums, and we can look into the situation for you. If you're not comfortable speaking to myself or one of my team about it, by all means feel free to PM Kintaii and he can help you out as well.

I'd also like to point out that if we ask for any personal identifying information, that it is kept in the strictest confidence, and only seen by ARK Management and Funcom.

You also stated that this applies to "Ex-ARKs". Should we take this as confirmation that if you were banned from ARK by a GM, and you were never an ARK, you're SOL?

I've been trying to get an application pushed through, but it seems we've been hitting a rather large grouping of snags. I've emailed you personally, and have had some small conversation with Kintaii about it, but so far have to gain any sense of completion on it from my end. I'm sending you a PM.

As you can pretty much by now see, being asked to understand it from ARK's shoes and then being summary blacklisted from induction tends to feel a little frustrating. Especially since there is some vaguery concerning what the actual reason(s) may be for doing so.

The real understatement I think is the one thats said the most, but for some reason people just haven't caught on yet.

Communication. We has little to none. It appears to the be largest common denominator for every problem we seem to run into. In almost every situation (not kidding 90% of them) I get to wait a week or two before someone finally says anything to me, and when they do its very noncommital or uninformative, or lately the trend is to say "Sure, lets work on it" then a year later were still asking questions to see if anything came of it. It's ridiculously frustrating to finally get out of a lurch only to be lured/suckered into the next one.

Is this what were expected to sympathize with?

Not PM'd Raizelon due to ARKs not being able to help with this one however i sent Kintaii a PM on Jan 26th - no reply as of yet.

Edit: Actually PM'd Means on March 17th 2010 regarding the same issue - Never had a reply from that either.
