Going to keep it short and sweet.

1) A new installer that isn't a single huge EXE file and takes forever for modern anti-viruses to scan ("But you can disable your anti-virus!" **** you ****ing dip**** lazy *** ********)

2) Annoying small things everyone knows about, yet have not been fixed

3) Save character preferences server side! I shouldn't have to move my windows around on every computer I own!

4) Rubi-Ka needs an XP boost

5) Omni / Clan only items need to be hackable or have copy / paste / re-textured versions of the same items

6) The current PvP title system is horrible

7) Two NCU windows, 1 for hostile, 1 for friendly

8) Make life better for new players

9) Basic Org Tools! We shouldn't need bots / third party content

10) Use AORK / AOSL as the default maps! Link to those

11) Give us release dates! Don't act like it's coming along swimmingly week after week for a year, it isn't fare to the player base. Sure, you might not know when it is going to be done exactly, but this is really annoying.

So i been on and off in this f'''n game since like 04 i never started 02 due to the fu''ed up fees to friggin expencive first like 70€ to buy the **** then another 10€ per month to play it ffs get a grip i developed gamed i had a 10k community world wide whitout a fee and 3 to 6 hours per day development still lost ppl daily no u hava a overpriced old game wwhit a hoex up new engine tryin to get more ppl to play whit a fu**ed up gm (means) who rather run when i see him (yeas pls) who bans the ppl who is vets and promote the ppl who harass and bans the gm´s who actually does their works.

So, i've just been into my accounts, on account of wanting to cancel said accounts, but what did i see?

A bargin, that's what, at the current exchange rates, Funcom would normally charge me 290 USD (yes, really, two hundred and ninety US Dollars) to pay for this game for a year.
Luckily for me though, Funcom in their infinite generosity have decided to charge me the meagre sum of 154 USD (yeah, still no typo there, one hundred and fifty four US Dollars).
Simply because i live in the UK i should be playing 306 USD for two accounts and i can think myself lucky because its not 580 USD (yes, you read that correctly, over half a grand for 2 accounts for a year)... really... i mean REALLY?

It would be really nice to have some sensible reasons for cancelling a subscription too. How about adding things like 'Outdated game engine', maybe 'Too expensive in my region' or how about 'Update delays', things of that nature so you can actually see why people leave the game because i'm pretty sure that you don't read everyone's comments, instead, just bring up a summary of 'oh look, a load of people left due to technical issues' or 'people are leaving to play other games'.

Blatantly you have way too many players and more money than you know what to do with.
Maybe the current Game Director should take a holiday and tell us all about it on FWM.

Battle Stations... so, someone decided it would be a really smart thing to do, to spend money, time and resources on changing the way the BS works. Great idea. Specifically, i'm referring to having people wait on their BS to start out of sight, away from everyone else. There was way too many people on the streets anyway. And, we all know that the first thing a new player wants to see is less people on the streets and playing the game, less activity in the main cities of RK.

Dailies are a nifty idea though, they encourage 'solo playing'. Yes, yes, i know that people are playing an online game, but, way, way, more often than not, i see people logging in to do their dailies. They'll do them on several chararcters then log out. It used to be that to get the same exp, they would join teams and actually play the game as if it really was a multiplayer game. And yes, i know that its not everyone doing this, but with the player base dwindling the way it is, you really don't want anyone playing this way.

Where is the new engine? Seriously. Its getting close to half a decade since you originally announced a new engine, a newer shinier one in DX9. Really? but, just hold on there a second... DX9 was released back in 2002, DX10 in 2006 and DX11 in 2009. Do any of you know what year it is?

But, lets give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're talking about DX9c. So, your new shiny engine if it comes out next week will be 3 years out of date.
If you actually got your stuff together and released it under DX11, it will only be 2 years out of date.

And really, i for one don't care one bit for your lies about how its better to keep it all backward compatible for older systems, that's just complete rubbish. The vast majority of people have DX9c systems or higher, so, why would you market games to the minority?
Unless you really are trying to reduce the player base to a handful.

In Game Shop, not a bad idea at all, but why would you put things on there that are meant to be profession specific? Crats accessing their bank from anywhere once they've reached the right level to do so is cool, a Trox isn't. How long until any profession can purchase a complete heal, a wrangle or indeed items that just buff you everything you need?

Is this a way of slowly merging all the professions into one?

But, after saying all of that, how much will you take notice of? Do you care what your community is crying out for? I doubt it.

Can we get more false promises about new engines, game rebalancing, listening to the community? Ofcourse we can!

I for one would be much much happier if Funcom just told us outright 'There's no new engine, we spend all the money we get from AO developing other games and partying, there never will be a new engine and the current Game Directors job is to direct the game to your recycle bin. However, we've decided to do it over a long period of time so we can milk you for ever last penny.'
That way id stop wasting my time and on occasion, believing you when you tell us you're making things better. We would'nt hate you, we would think you all better people for just telling the truth.

Oh, and can we get FWM changed to a Monday, something to brighten up our week instead of put a downer on a good week we may have had.

I vote for 'MUMWOM'... Made Up Mondays With(Out) Means.

The fact that this thread exists is proof positive of just how little actual work gets done by the AO staff. After weeks of bull**** like "The devs are all sick" when half the devs aren't even in the ****ing country (the pointing out of which earned me some butthurt Kintaii wrath for a week) RK1's economy went straight to hell because you all can't be bothered to fix a ****ing exploit (or anything else) in anything approaching a reasonable amount of time.

Still no engine
Still no rebalance
still no reason to subscribe.

Ok so i'm no where near as active as what i used to be but still...

I log on every cookie month (well most) for that damned Omni-Tek Affiliiate Meeting (Yes I'm a RP'er) and what? No one turns up? Or if they do they set the cookie NPC Unicorn Specialists on aggressive so as soon as i walk through the door, my sweet cookie gets sent back to reclaim! ... Oh and i saved in SL!!

**** the game, as much fun as it's been, I've got too much else going on. And **** this contest, it's nothing worth the prize, but it's as good an excuse as any to get out what I've been avoiding saying to anyone.

I graduated from college today. Big hurrah, right? Sure. Now I go from "Student" to "Unemployed." I'd love to get a job, but I stuck around at a school where I wasn't learning anything, because I was lazy? Because I just wanted to be around my friends there instead of do some work? I don't know, I just know I should've gone somewhere where I could learn.

Now I'm stuck applying for a bunch of IT and programming jobs I don't want, in a city with plenty of much more experienced and qualified people looking at the same jobs. Doesn't help that I let a fool's dream slip into my mind. Some little **** that can't even remember the basics of C++, forget getting through an introduction of Java, will never get into a real industry like game programming. I'll be lucky to get a dead end **** job at Best Buy. People keep telling me that it isn't that bad, but I don't believe it. They weren't there with me at school. They didn't see how little I gave a ****.

And so I lose myself in other worlds, just like I used to do as a little kid. Used to be fantasy books and internet forums, then it was MMOs. Was great, hit here on Rubi-Ka nice and comfy. Then over the years I got busy some times, and old friends faded away as well. I have no drive to get back into the games with community anymore. Even my RL friends that I would MMO with all lose interest in the games after just a couple months, like some ****in' MMO ADD or something. Now I'm just some lowly nerd in the worst of senses, barely any social life, getting to know video game or TV characters better than anyone I call "friend."

The only interaction I get with people outside of my family in this house is when I see my girlfriend, who has stuck with this loser for far longer than he deserves. Little to QQ about there, honestly. Just fears, really. Want to get a place with her, but I know for sure I'm not responsible enough for that. I would be lost in an apartment, without people around to guide me.

Maybe now I can actually say any of this to people that might help. This all feels like an extended random thoughts of the day from Reets.

Main things have been said, i'll give my top 5 :
- new engine delayed since ages
- noob island revamp needed for years
- rebalance still on paper/xls as we talk
- NW grief+meep "weakness" still not fixed
- testlive poorly feeded & informed

Few people/money => too much time involved for every critical update needed.
Meanwhile game dies, people leave, releases are delayed, & oblivion it all goes ...

bottom line, I'm spending a lot of time playing this game and if it goes the way of the dodo I'm going to be sad that all the work died. I want to see deadlines on the engine and rebalance so I know they aren't just ways to juice the last bit of money out of a dying game. I also want to see the advertising strategy for AO post rebalance and engine revamp... the game doesn't have to die and I want to see FC's strategy for making sure it doesn't.
