(placeable by org president, useable by any org members using inexpensive beacon device).
Long cooldown (think: hi-level faction change cooldown times) and some restrictions on where it could be placed. New org members would be able to instantly warp to their org's home/hangout, infusing them with a greater spirit of comradre.

What special events, item should be made for the 10th Anniversary?

Here are just a few off the top of my head:
Random events where some giant version of a mob pops into one of the major cities to wreak havok (like in the old days of AO).
Larger inventory storage or the ability to activate/tradeskill items in packs.
GMS open to all players of any subscription type.
A revamp of the official website.
A fix for "Mark Forums Read".
Removal of the dual log warning box.
More locations for Veteran social items (like in the social slots, not HUD/UTIL slots).
New Social Pet: Baby Kyr'Ozch.
Remove unique tags from FRN & any other items required to make an armor part (such as the parts collected for the sided shoulderpads quest).
Revamp of the specs/modifiers for the RK armors & weapons to make them viable.
Change the reqs for the keeper shield to a wrist slot or something to allow a keeper to actually use it.
Truly global (game-wide) OOC channels for each faction.
A working garage in our Sunrise Apartments.
Bloodninja's robe and wizard hat!
Here are lots more social suggestions.

And of course, the mandatory request for the release of the profession rebalance & engine update by the time of the tenth anniversary, or at least active in the beta test.

What special events, item should be made for the 10th Anniversary?

An in-game box edition of Duke Nukem Forever (that is visible in-hand or apartment) or a similarly designed backpack. Realizing copyright issues, a similar sounding name would suffice.

Make sure its release date is visible too.

For the 10th anniversary we should have a campout dinner at some local national park (local to the new FC offices) to celebrate the camping we haven't had to do since SL's release

I'm looking forward to the party and tentatively plan to attend.

For those players that will also turn 10 this year, do you plan to do something special for them? May I suggest having their names a different color like the NPC?

my first idea was a jet pack. were how far into the future with notum technology and we still don't have jet packs?

also, something I have always wanted since this very moment is a pair of rollerblades (or similar with jets instead of wheels) in-game, including realistic "skating" animation. they can be fittingly called Phase-Blades because they are from the phasefront store, use phase (Phase-shifted Electrodynamic) propulsion technology like the other phasefront vehicles, and well, also because they are still "blades" in the non-brandname sense of the word, without the rollers.
