Oh, you definitely have to try Gulden Draak then if you can get your hands on it.

And Grolsch Oud Bruin is fkin awesome too, but it's an utter PITA to get even in the Netherlands where it's brewed. I've only found it in Enschede (the city where the Grolsch brewery is located) so far, no dice in Nijmegen or Den Bosch.

Augustiner Edelstoff has 5.6%.

Eku has 15%. It tastes like Giraffe pee. I think it is fermented giraffe pee.

Microbrews anywhere - including America - can make great stuff. The best beer I ever tasted, back when I drank beer, was one from a batch of about 100 bottles made by a wine conosseur on a lark. It was unfiltered. You chewed the last few sips. It was awesome.

the times i drink beer (not very often) i usually go with Palm or hoegaarden (depending on what they have ), occasionally a Duvel or Westmalle Tripple.

Thank god i live in Belgium

i also work near a place where they sell more then 300 brands, deff gonna have to check that place out and try some of the suggestions here

about beer prices: prices varry from 1-1.5 euros for the normal beers (palm etc) to 2-2.5 for the heavier beers (duvel, westmalle,...). and since i'm not a regular drinker i could prolly get drunk on 16$ of beer

Svyturys is simply a great beer for regular big time drinking. Sooo smooth that its deliciously difficult to stop. Sadly, moving from LT (back home) now makes me enjoy the eleksir of Svyturys way, way to seldom.

For a juicy experience a semi hot early summers day a Hoegaarden simply is the greatest starter.

If someone are in Copenhagen, Denmark, get a local beer from "Nørrebro bryghus" (yet another mirco brewery). If you get too drunk and want to bring a story home, get a "Well served beer!" (in Istegade (Istestreet))....

Shame is, a Duvel or a Westmalle Trippel will cost you at least 12-13 euros in a norwegian bar... Regular crappy lager will go for 6-8 euros.....

Last week i bought a Nøgne Ø - God Jul at a bar here in Tromsø and it cost me 18,81 euros....150,- NKr...!!

It's a rough life trying to enjoy good beer here...
