I would play it myself, but we have an org DB1 & 2 scheduled; and I don't want to miss it.
just do it, the game is designed for kids so it would be better to let your 9 old son play and test it

It is a game for KIDS.... it is erm how should i call it... easy!
Walk with mouseclicks, attack with mouseclicks, follow all the footsteps, read the questdialoges (they only consist of Kill 325u923 with some pictures) follow the footsteps, kill mobs, get reward, talk to person to get item xy follow footsteps kill mobs... it is easy, trust me you neither need a guide nor a manual.
you only need your mouse, the buttons 1 2 and 3 to switch between pets (you should put all 3 colors into the "equipslots" to be able to switch pretty fast when mixed areas are coming) and "F1" for Healing Potion and "F2" for Mana Potion...

Check out this:
on the left side you have Chat, GM-Help (this is the Shieldy thing) and your Map... easy (the house thing is for returning to the University which is something like the home world and will be activated later.
On the right side of the screen you have the ! which is your actual quest if you want to check it, the next one is your pet window where you can see your pets and decide the 3 ones you want to use (the pets are shown in the middle at the bottom), the next one is your equip inventory and the last one is settings.
It´s all pretty easy.
Left click somewhere to move, left click on a monster to use melee attack, right click to use ranged attack (depends on your pet what you do there, some have area some not).
I bet everyone who is able to play AO will laugh how easy it is.

I just tried to get from 0 to 15 now, took me about 90 minutes, i think tomorrow with more people there and maybe a bit of lag it should be something around 2 hours to get to level 15, so it´s nothing impossible i think.
