    Goodbye

    Hi all

I have now cancelled my account, and it will end today. The game has just become too boring and I don't think any expansion packs or booster packs will help. I just reached lvl 100, and had a slight hope it would help, but it just don't. Now I have to get more xp to up level. Up level to become better, become better to kill higher mobs. And so on.

Content is lacking, and AO is not a real game. It's just an IRC software with fancy graphics (well, nearly fancy).

I will try the new upcoming games, and if you want just send a /tell to Lubox there.

Edit: Oh, forgot to tell you this: As an attempt to become part of some kind of storyline, I went along on an event with my guild. It was just impossible to do anything. Once there's more than 20 people around, the lagging become so intense, that it's just plain stupid. So I decided to not be part of any events with more than two people, and that's not called story. It's just sex.

Fare ye well... And good luck (and I'll miss the sig. )

As for AO not being a real game... define 'real game'... Most games become boring eventually - what your really complaining about isn't whether or not AO is a game (cause it is...) but that there isn't enough new content added frequently enough to stop the game becoming stale (which is probably true).

It remains to be seen whether upcoming games can deliver. I'd guess if they get enough ofa player base, then they will. AO has never quite hit that critical mass of players (and hence cashflow) and as a result is in a bit of a catch 22 situation. Maybe the booster and Shadowlands can change that, but it won't be easy.

See you in the next game Lubox. The problem with AO is that it is too frustrating. I am lvl 199 now and I refuse to do any more missions for exp because I did it to the point where they make me sick. What does 200 offer me? Nothing more then plain IPs. How is the player supposed to feel when they reach 200 and all their skills are capped. There is no sense of accomplishment.

I'll stop there, but this is just an inch of the reasons why people quit.

Rubi Ka's original lvl 199 nt? I think quite a few beat you to that mate

Anyway, good luck and have fun Lubox. Too bad you couldn't find more amusement in the game.

And Kicky was the first 200 ever. So what is your point? How many have stayed on 199 longer then me and are still actively playing? Anyway, here I go explaining myself again. That was a kick to Kinkstaah. Go look at his signature.

    *Big Hugs*

    Hey Lubox:

    *big hugs bro*

I would recommend just taking a couple of months off and see if there is any new content incoming. It's okay to take a big break away from a game when it becomes a little stale/boring. That's why many other games add flavor.

Don't finalize your stay in AO though. Things might get better but its plainly okay to cancel your account for 2 months and wait it out and then come back to make sure your characters don't get destroyed.

Anyways, regardless, I'll miss ya. Take care Lubox.

Drabin, I will miss ya too but I hope we can meet in another online game. I will play SWG a bit, of course, but I dont think for very long unless its extraordinary cool. What I'm mostly looking forward to is EVE (www.eve-online.com). Sounds cool. The game should have been released this year but they postponed it until Q1 2003, because "unlike other they wanted a finished game when they released"
There are other stuff coming out, "normal games", and if I can get a new comp at home, I will most likely by Battlefield 1942 first.

I am not going to keep my account any longer. It will end in about 4 hours I think. If AO for some reason becomes the absolutely coolest game around in 3-4 months, I will create a new character and spend a year to up that one to level 100 Or buy one at e-bay

Well, those of you that want to contact me by email, just do it: levi_tedder@hotmail.com

Lubox - I could have given my stuff away, but it's basically crap. I have 4 million credits which I maybe should log on and give away to some newbie. Yes!! I will do that now.

They don't delete your char. I quit for 3 months and came back with all my stuff there and at the same level when I left. Unless they changed that I am sure you don't have to start over.

  12. #12
Nevermind, now I really feel good. I logged on and gave it all away to a level 10. Yes, one of you should have gotten it, but you wouldn't have needed it.

    I will not be back

EVE - are you in Beta?
SWG - are you in Beta?
    Neocron I don't care about
    Shadowbane I don't care about
    AC2 I definitely don't care about.

EVE looks decent but I don't believe they've even started beta yet because I received an email from them saying so. As for SWG, to get in their beta is very difficult as they are still inviting only a few people in per week.

Unless you have played these yourself and have been in the beta testing extensively, you really can't say they suck. As for whether or not you have the extensive background of being a critic I would say you would do fine in the movie industry. Most of those guys say everything sucks when the movies are usually good. They argue a lot, never seem to show many supporting statements for their own opinions and they get paid for it. You might want to call Siskel and Ebert.

actually......um Siskel has departed the mortal plane....its now called Ebert and Roeper.

and geez eaze just say a nice goodbye and then go! ya dont need ta list every friggin upcoming MMORPG and say they suck.
