[Channel42] Eeod: my name's Linear
[Channel42] Agrestus: Ah good, I need RUR.
[Channel42] Eeod: I didn't do it.
[Channel42] Agrestus: No no, no accusations. I've got credits here.
[Channel42] Eeod: oh! how can I help you?
[Channel42] Agrestus: I'm representing the Newland Council but I'd like to request RUR's help in independent research.
[Channel42] Eeod: yes. we are good at research. and as independant as scienetists can be!
[Channel42] Agrestus: Good. We're investigating the recent change in the alien tactics and behaviour.
[Channel42] Agrestus: We've had numerous suggestions about what could be used to repel the aliens, rather than resort to agressive tactics such as weaponry.
[Channel42] Eeod: alright.. have you gathered information already about the changes in behaviour?
[Channel42] Agrestus: So, as the basis of our research, I'd like to ask RUR and any other willing scientists and engineers to study the aliens in terms of their response and reactions to various stimuli, such as colour, noise, environment, stuff like that.
[Channel42] Agrestus: So far we've noticed that the aliens are becoming more tactical in their attacks, using diversions and different locations to make an attack.
[Channel42] Eeod: the b*stards
[Channel42] Agrestus: If we can sufficiently repel them from the city without means of brute force, it'd benefit Newland greatly and you will be well compensated for your efforts.
[Channel42] Eeod: I'm Sure RUR could unleash a shipload of scientific research on them
[Channel42] Eeod: we do not ask lot of credits. Just a little charge and coverage of all expenses.
[Channel42] Naxsina: Someone gotta pay for it.
[Channel42] Agrestus: Brill. As long as you don't conduct the research within the vicinity or inside of Newland, and allow other scientists to work with you, I don't see any other restraints.
[Channel42] Agrestus: Of course whoever makes a breakthrough will be compensated out of my own account, and possibly Newland.
[Channel42] Eeod: Minister Wright, you've got yourself a deal.
[Channel42] Agrestus: Glad to do business.

[Boltgun]

Trying to not laugh, Boltgun reads and rereads the project's outline. Anything claiming to replace the use of lethal force is already ridiculous to him, but to use 'stimuli' on top of that sound more like a joke to him.

- We need more of that aggressive tactic, he says to himself, no magic formulae will save us if we can't use the cityscape correctly.

As he lean back on his seat he think about the sad picture of Newland defending itself with bad 29470s pop music.

- I need a plan B, probably add C, D and E in the mix at this rate.

[General Hekkat]

The General sits back in his chair, as it creaks under his weight.
"Hum..." he mutters softly as he reads the ministers proposal to RUR.

Well, if it keeps those RUR people occupied and out of Newland with some of their hair brained ideas, it might not be a bad plan after all, he mused to himself.

And ya never know..they might actually stumble across something.

All he could do was chuckle as he reached out for the stack of the latest reports from his men.

[Eeod]

"Boss?"
when Eeod stepped into Stanislaws office he almost tripped over an empty bottle of RUR-cola.
"Boss? Are you here?"
from behind the desk came a moaning sound.
Eeod walked up to the desk and reached to look at what was on the floor behind it.
"Ah, boss. there you are. We need aliens."
"wah?"
"we have closed a deal with minister Wright. We have a new research project. And guess what? He'll cover all expenses!"
"oh?"
"Yeah! Now we need some aliens to test on. I was thinking of hiring the pathfinders to get us some live specimen."
"Pathfinders? You know how much they charge?'
"you point being?"
"oh yeah."
Stanislaw hoisted himself on his chair and made a cool gesture.
"Make it so."

[Dabblez]

Stanislaw took a peek out of the window at RUR headquarters. As often happened the shield generators had failed again and, almost on queue, swarms of aliens had landed and gone on the rampage. He figured if he laid low and kept quiet eventually they would go away, the always did.

"Ironic" he pondered. "Just the either day Eeod came in here tell me we needed to grab some aliens and instead they come to grab us."

[Sakkar]

I smell a story...

[Eeod]

"Where do we stand now?"
"Well, we all agreed that a good way to catch aliens alive is using a 2000 square feet piece of fly paper. But aliens coming from the sky probably spot the fly paper from a fair distance.
We also agreed that hiring Pathfinders might be financialy a bit risky since we dont get credits from minister Wright in advance. We dó learn from previous experiences."
"Right, so, what's the solution?"
"The only thing we've come up with is using the flypaper to catch pathfinders to catch aliens."
"thats good thinking. Make it so."
"You know Stan, that a realy cool gesture you just made."
"Thanks."

[Gunfytr]

Beer stares at Gun in disbelief, "You want us to do what??"

Gunfytr calmly gazes back, "I know it never been tried before, but I've been thinking of something along the same lines anyway."

"So, how?"

Gun leans back in his chair, "No idea...yet. Oh, by the way, if you see RUR techs hanging around the front gates with big strips of flytape, just ignore them and use the grid."

[Eeod]

"Duck! Someone's there!"
Eeod and slaarti huddled behind a shrubbery.
"He's coming this way." Slaarti hissed.
"No worries," Eeod replied, "I'm sure the flypaper wil work."

[Gunfytr]

< Boss? >

<Yes, Potty? >

<Um....they did it. >

< You ok? >

< Yeah. If you can consider being wrapped in flypaper "ok". >

< Are they happy? >

< I really cant see them, but from the sound of the cheering, I'd say so. >

< Ok, you can grid now. And thank you. >

< No problem, Boss. Just doing my part.....kinda. Hey, can we send someone else next time? Like MJ? >

< It would be counter productive if MJ sent RURs entire Dev team to reclaim, wouldn't it? >

< Well, yeah, I guess it would at that. >

< Ok, then. Get with me later. >

Mary didnt feel safe with all the flypaper in the city and the cloak going up and down
- He is really trying to trick the aliens to come to our city. She mumbled.
What if one of them find their way to the mailroom and make a mess of things?
She rememberd her talk with officer Anouk the day before, but she didnt think a nanoformula was the answer. Not the ones she knew anyway.
Then she got an idea.
- Stamps!
She could put stamps on the floor with the glueside up!
She got to work

[Dabblez]

Stanislaw: "No Slotine, I've not seen your rare and precious stamp collection anywhere round the office, but I wouldn't worry. I am sure it'll turn up."

[Gimpeline]

Mary looked at the mailroom and was really proud of her work.
By luck she had found a big book with outdated usless stamps.
She had carfully spred them around so they cowerd every centimeter of the floor.
She heard ha sound outside. It was the cloak that went down again.
- Here we go again, she thought as she could hear the alien ships closing.
she looked out.
One of the ships looked like it had trubble and was heading in her direction.
It crashed into the wall and broke the window.
A cloud of stamps headed out and found it's way into Eeods flypapers.
mary decided that the stamps might not have been a good idea after all

Izola walked into her old Office looked over the furniture and terminals, home..
-It's been a while, -she mumbled
Looking out over the city a smile ran across her face, for a brief moment, not to common.
As she sat down starting to go through a years worth of reports, the smile faded away.
-Attacks on Omni-Mining offices! Havoc in the streets.
A frown hastily developed as she read onwards..
... ..
-FLY PAPER!
.. ..
Standing up, looking out across the cityscape frown deepened and a pulsating vein pronounced..

-Dear Old Ka, you really cannot do anything the easy way could you.
It's good to be home.

"Hello Eeod, welcome in my office.
Listen. Here's the thing;
Since i've been put in charge of RUR by our Yutto owners they require status reports and stuff. So, i'm going to close my eyes tor total concentration while you brief me about the flypaper project.
And Eeod, please don't interrupt me when i'm making noises. that's all part of the concentration."

Eeod started;
"Erm. Ok. It all started almost three months ago when...erm.. that neutral minister, whathisname came to me for some information."

Stanislaws mind slowly drifted away.
