I still am not quite sure. Apparently I put together my tower so well that its got personality now. It sometimes chooses between not having monitor feed, and recognizing hard drives. =/ Either way, I am not very confidant of my computer building skills anymore. Bleeh.

I have been trying to set one up, however due to many circumstances everytime I get a date planned and set something happens that means I have to scrap it.

Why does it have to be the Events Director? Pheats is clearly championing this and it's not like the event will be discounted in any way if he were to post the information or even lead the get-together.

I would think that whomever in the Events group is championing it, he will have to at least ask permission from his Director regarding the setting of a date of the yearly meeting which concerns the department. In other words, it does come down the the Director making the final decision. ARK has always operated that way, unless they changed their rules (and unofficial politics) in the past few years.

Who is we? and better in what aspect? I didn't know there was some sort of competition between servers... nor that role-playing was a competitive hobby.

Come on Trousers, I've already moved past our differences. Why are you so set in disliking fellow role players just because they're on a different server?

I've been at your server, and everyone I've met (except for you) have been very friendly even when I started with my foot in my mouth for which I apologized at the time.

Right now there are a few problems on the role-playing aspect of the game which affects both your server and mine. I believe that we both have been shortchanged in the delivery of quality in-game events. continuing the years-long reputation of ARK Events Team being understaffed and always replying with "we have enough people".

I miss the times when Tchu was in charge and the big players (Ross/Radiman) and they would make 1-2 appearances or more a month (not related to the times they would pull them before expansions for promotional purposes).

The "good old days" of easy interaction with the "greenies" in public has become a myth. In the past 7 months I've seen a total of 1 event at Borealis where omnis were asking for ID's and 1 LTC just sitting and chatting with a single person in Newland.

Back in the day, greenies would be MOBBED... word would spread and people would leave missions, teams, hunting, etc. from any zone and rush to the greenie(s) to join the fun.

I recall several times when we would CRASH a zone due to so many people showing up for an event that it had to be reset 1-3 times.

I'm sure you recall those times as well Trousers since you've been around a few years right? Wouldn't you want to get back to those days, rather than the "maybe" once-a-year decent event?

You can continue with your "my server is better than yours" mentality which doesn't benefit anyone besides your own gratification, or you can try to work with fellow roleplayers to maybe (and this is a big maybe) improve and increase the events in-game and the flow of the storyline.

I've learned to ignore you, simply because I thought you have been blowing nothing but smoke. You've done a few good things for the Rimor RP Community like providing an infonet through bots and the Perseus Spiral News online publication. However your attitude towards anyone who may be considered a competition for one of your projects, or anything outside your own server you treat like a deadly foe that is coming to your home to steal everything you own.

ARK Events have always done 2 separate meetings for servers, never have they done a single meeting including both servers either through temporary alts in-game or (even more easily run) a meeting using a chat room in Funcom's IRC server.

The issues and problems regarding events and the storyline affect both Rimor and Atlantean. Both RP communities have shrunk over the years, people got bored or just given up on expecting any entertaining or exciting events from events or FC itself. The storyline has twisted and done quite a few 360's in the past few years, even those few who still follow the written records/logs/posts of such storyline events scratch their heads at stories without ending, or sudden inexplicable ending or just plain and simple... without an ending.

So Trousers, with so much stuff which you claim to care about being pretty much broken, forgotten, upside down, blurred and god knows what else we don't even know about.... will you put your imaginary grudge aside please?

Not to make this a jump on Windguaerd thread or anything, but I'm curious what good old days are you referring too? Last year? I've been around a few years and the most LTC movement I've seen as really only been recent with in the past 2 years when Ninanna took over the LTC program and worked hard to get them out there, make them visible, and interact with the players. Yeah maybe back in the day the servers would crash becasue you would only see one every six months and people would freak cause they existed. And even then they were always about the Legion.

Let me add I remember the Legion storyline which over all was a pretty neat story with some cool events tied too it (if you liked dying in 30secs cause the STs were so over powered), but for the most part that whole storyline was carried on the shoulders of players. At least that's how it was on RK2, if it wasn't for players like Nulion and Tipha nobody would have cared about the Legion at all.

Now there are a number of different characters with their own story lines and events going on at once. And many of them are very good and complex. If anything the current events team has been working harder now then in the "ye old glory days". I've been told there's at least one event a week. Just because the hardcore rp crowd doesn't see them doesn't mean they don't happen. Lets keep in mind events isn't here to entertain the hand full of rpers on both dims, they are here to entertain the player base as a whole.

There will always be problems in RP it will never be a perfect system, there will always be flaws and lets be honest it's impossible to make everyone happy. Someone will always be around to blab about how back in the day things were much better.

On a side note if there is any animosity between RK2 players toward RK1, it becasue for years we had to have it shoved down out throats how RK1 was the rp dim, and rk2 was the pvp or drama did. Or having to sit and watch while events that happened on rk1 would effect rk2. I can way one thing about this new events team they seem to care about both dims and see the differences and plan things so the play out a little differently on each.

Anyway my hat goes off to the events team, keep up the good work and I'll see you Saturday. Now I just need to decide what toon to bring.

You've been stomping on ARK for quite some time, to the point you were banned from events (your character was ignored). Now you do a complete turn around and say they're on track. I'm not sure how you went from throwing stones to throwing flowers in a matter of a few months.

So your continued "Rimor is better than Atlantean" somehow now makes sense because you've rationalized it as... a benefit for the while community? How?

I could see some sense if... we were talking about PvP servers.... there is competition with PvP, kills, titles, etc. There is none of that with role-playing. Actually role-playing is an interactive hobby rather than competitive, you roleplay with others, there are no "I got 143 in Roleplaying skill!" or "omg! I hit Expert Roleplayer title!".

Nobody is perfect, and yes, at times I can be an *******, ask the AOU Team, sometimes I can be difficult to work with, but I try to be a TEAM player and work with others so that the project (whatever it may be) benefits the community as best as possible.

I didn't like you Trousers, and for a time during (and weeks after) my visit to Rimor I didn't even want to hear anything related to you... however I've put that aside since then for the simple reason that I got better things to do than having to deal with you because.... honestly even replying to some of your posts gave me a headache.

I really was hoping for you to change your mind, so we could be civil to each other, maybe even (was a long shot) discuss and share ideas regarding the improvement of role-playing opportunities in our servers. Of course, I'm a dreamer... not gonna happen.

If you want to continue your "My server is better than yours" motto, go right ahead man... comic relief comes in many shapes.
