Welcome to the Quarterly Rubi-Ka Entertainment Report, Autumn 29481 edition. This is the place to get your latest fun and leisure stories because - as we all know - there's nothing better after a long day of slaughtering innocent Blubbags than to sit down with a good book or movie.
We start with books today. The fiction books bestseller list has remained unchanged, with Harry Potter and the Wereatrox still on top of the list. Both the Omni-Tek version, which has Harry battle evil genetically-modified Atrox and the Clan version, in which Harry liberates the Atrox from an Omni mine, have been top-sellers in their respective markets. The non-fiction list has seen a change, as Rachel Ray's 101 Delicious Rollerrat Recipes was replaced by Ted Nugent's Kill It and Grill It - Mantis Edition. This is Nugent's first bestseller since his somewhat controversial Rhinomen Edition.
Movie attendance has been further dropping, with the big budget Godzilla and the Gargantuan Baraton seeing disappointing box office. Low-brow teen comedy A Night at Reet Retreat became the highest grossing movie last quarter, followed by a pair of low-budget horror movies Killer Cyborg and Zombie Brains from Jobe City. In other movie-related news, the latest project starring Tom Cruise Mechbot Mk. XLVII, tentatively named Mission Impossible: Trouble in Adonis has suffered a setback as the filming crew accidentally overlooked a Heckler of Elements when selecting a film shot location. The production company has promised to retrieve the remains of the Tom Cruise Mechbot and go on with filming in a few short weeks.
In music news, the recording industry has launched another wave of lawsuits, this time against people who installed a new file sharing software into their brain symbiants. This lawsuit also marks two hundred years since the last original song has been released by an artist who was promptly put into cryo sleep in order to achieve perpetual copyright. In other news, the latest season of Rubi-Ka Idol was postponed after a rejected Meta-Physicist candidate unleashed an Anger Manifestation on one of the judges.
Finally, video game news. The latest Grand Theft Yalm game is causing predictable controversy: Clan officials are complaining about excess violence, while Omni censors want to arrest the developers for brief nudity scenes. This quarter has also seen the latest grand failure of a multiplayer online game, Third Life. While this kind of games seems to be popular on some planets, such as Sol III, people on Rubi-Ka apparently have too much fun living their lives than taking part in some virtual reality. The best-selling game for the quarter was Chessmaster 5.5 Million, which added a new twist to 3D chess: time travel.
This concludes our quarterly entertainment report. Coming up in winter: review of the movie Santa Claus Conquers the Yuttos, as well as an exclusive interview with Athens Hilton on her sex life and why she doesn't date Nanomages.
