After reading this entire thread, from post one to the very last, I've concluded a couple of things:
1) Everyone that plays AO is suddenly an expert on Servers, Server Migrations, DNS routing, Routers, etc. I've built many personal computers and set up networks, but that doesn't make me an expert on this server stuff and I'll never lay claim to that fame. Evidently, some of you know what you're talking about, kudos to you guys. To the pretenders, just stop. It's painfully evident that you, in fact, have no idea what you're talking about.
2) Very few people are actually patient when it comes to things like this. I'd really hate to see what some of you would do in the event of a seriously volatile and catastrophic even in your real lives. What would you do? Have a hardcore emotional meltdown sounds about right. All I can say to those people is...Good Luck I guess.
Things happen, fact of life. Get used to it now, or big dissappointments lie ahead for you.
Edit: Good Job FC. Thanks for upgrading the hardware, however long it took. I have enough imagination and creativity to keep myself busy for however long any upgrades take you.

I think we're 10 hours in to the 12 hour extension, by now the people doing all the work should know if they're going to be able to get everything up and running in the next 2 hours. I think it's about time for a status update.
The biggest problem I have in these situations is being treated like a mushroom. The CR/PR people should be all over the forums during times like this reassuring the customer base that "yes, we know you're out there and going crazy". Even telling us that there is nothing to tell us is better than letting us wonder and speculate.
