Thread: The new robes. Is there any use for them?

  1. #1

The new robes. Is there any use for them?

    Summoner robe:
A bit of AR for the pistol/bow users, some nice nano delta. Too low +hp to be of real use for a doc.

    Ranger robe:
AR buff and some much needed Multi Ranged. Great buff item for putting on the pistols. Nice +hp. My best bet for a robe to see doc "use".

    Jester robe:
Crappy evades. Nice +hp. Useless doc item.

    Illusionist robe:
AR for pistol users. Okay +hp. Nice Nano Delta. Nice NPCost mod.Very nice NanoC.Init. THE doc pvp backitem?

    Healer robe:
Nice +hp. Okay Nano Delta. Nice NanoC.Init. Seems like everyone else than docs and advies (the healers) will prolly get this one due to the treatment buff.

    Gladiator robe:
Some AR for the MA people. Nice +hp.

To me it seems rather ironic, that the healer robe isn’t of any use to me at all, whereas the ranged (pistol doc) and illusionist robes both seem nice. They don't seem to be super fast and easy to get, so I had figured we'd be getting something I'd be willing to work for, but with these stats I can't really see myself jumping with excitement. I'm not even bothering with any of them for my keeper, there's just none of them that's interesting enough. What are you’re thoughts on these new, shiny things?
Why play melee when crat pets can do your job?

I think you summed it up pretty well.

Illusionist and Healer look the best for combat use to me. I will prolly use the Illusionist one for the extra nano init but not sure yet.

    The difference between the two:
    Code:
    -- Illusionist ---
    Modify Wearer Pistol	15
    Modify Wearer Burst	15
    Modify Wearer FlingShot	15
    Modify Wearer NPCostModifier	-3%
    Modify Wearer NanoDelta	10
    Modify Wearer NanoC.Init	25
    Code:
    -- Healer --
    Modify Wearer MaxHealth	50
    Modify Wearer HealMultiplier	3%
    Modify Wearer BodyDevelopment	20
    Modify Wearer HealDelta	10
Both have the Nanoreflect as special, only difference is that Healer buffs extra 15% heal eff while illusionist buffs Nanodamage which does nothing for us. Not that the Heal eff will make much difference either.

Gladiator will prolly be used by many MA docs. Pvm DD Epeen special on it too.
Ranger looks nice as buffing item. Same DD special.

i cant imagine why anyone would go through the trouble of getting this cloak for a treatment buff, when they can just get a biomech armor cloak...

at the highest upgrade it's 13 treatment..

a ql 200 biomech cloak is 10 treatment...

i guess if the 3 treatment points are worth all that time and energy......

as for which one i like the best....illusionist is hawt

I'm digging healer, because it has one more point of heal eff over the Ofab back, and the nano delta and stuff is pretty nice. Plus as a doc, I can never really turn down extra run speed and nano init.

While illusionist might add weapons skills and max nano, in PvM I don't have much trouble scoring hits and my nanocost is capped without a hardcore CPU upgrade anyway.

Imo it's not the Weaponskills or NCR that speaks for Illusionist. It's adds more NanoInit and more NanoDelta. I picked it for now for those reasons.

Only consideration for me had been the 3% heal eff that may make the 216 heal better for pvping full def.

Got the healer for the odd times I want more healeff/nanodelta + saves me VP farming. I'll stick to other stuff for general use. I did 214 levels without wearing a bathrobe, pains me to start now

Yeah, the visual of it is a real downer. Makes you wish for a "[ ] Show Robe Armor" option. Can't even hide it by putting another back on social slot, unless it's a robe as well.

I'm currently trying to figure out if I consider that even worse or just as equal bad.
I'm using another robe, 3 of them to be exact. the detective mantle, the leather duster and the kimono. I'm not going to wear overcoat again on my doc, ever.
