Omni-Pol dropship explodes in mid air
    December 08, 29480 - [Global]

IRRK - At 20:00 RST today, the sound of a dropship could be heard throughout the area of Broken Shores. One of our local journalists managed to follow said-dropship, which showed markings very much like that of an Omni-Pol transport. It is unknown where this dropship was heading, but the fate of the ship, and its crew, could be heard everywhere.

Without warning, the ship exploded and crashed as a massive fireball. Many people were baffled as to what had just happened, as well as our reporter, who quickly rushed to the site of the crash. There were no survivors as far as our reporter could tell.

It is unknown what caused the ship to crash, but since it exploded, one could assume that it was struck by weapon fire. This corresponds well with what several people told our reporter. A large black shadow, following the ship from behind, shortly before the explosion.

We will follow this story as it goes on.

    Stay tuned for more news!

    ..or human air craft.

It would seem that despite the menace that the Aliens pose to us, that the powers that we would see fit to have their troopers fight eachother in prefernce to the xeno-threat.

Or more interesting...why they hell wasn't these Pol's insured? Ah hmm, they are Pol weren't they? They tend to get shot at? surely they should of been insured. That is of course if the ship was actually manned, or even if it was they were Pol which I seriously doubt.

Black sleek stealthy aircraft? someone say Loonicorns! Come on, we've all seen the grid feed images of these craft, and they definatly ain't Alien!

As for who could of been in that drop ship. I hate to find out. How many people have "vanished" off the streets of Borealis since Pol took over? could it just of been filled with captured mutants? could it be poor old Brownington who tried to warn us of all Omni-Tek planned for us before "vanishing" in the Borealis prison.

Nothing would surprise me other than there actually being Pol onboard that ship.

Someone might be testing their new toys on their own people, one might even say.

If you entire millitary force is insured, why not test your weapons randomly on your own people? They don't die, you don't lose millions of credits worth of training. You get accurate test results, and your personel get training on what happens in actual combat.

*sighs* why test new weapons on our own boys if we have you?

Anything to spare a few creds, eh?

Instead of spending time on our case, you should mind your own defenses, or the aliens will keep biting your butt.

Because then the OTPC can say it was all clans fault. Or are you guys tired of playing that old card?

Ridiculous! Killing our own men cost money, and we have to clear up the mess wich also costs money and all that just to put blame on clan side?
It's clear only a trox would come up with such a ridiculous idea.

No, that's just an additional benefit.
Testing a weapon on a specific target, whose details and parameters are well known, will yield better results than blasting some passer-by.
Also, some clanner (or neut) might not agree to have OT tracking equipment installed in his craft - we do have good reason to be su****ious of you, after all. The war and such..

Oh, and that there bill for cleaning up your mess? You guys have whole departments doing nothing but cleaning up your various messes, so it's already in the budget..

We could use prisoniers (clans and other troublemakers) for that... They will not protest (not after they had been thoroughly reformed) and will return to the place where they saved last time... in an OT prison. So you see that would be clean and effective... and cheap...

But that is only a possibility. I do not have data that this is/was used in weapon testing...
