    Freelance: Neutral Barrage Balloons

    Neutral Barrage Balloons
    December 22, 29480 - [Atlantean]

IRRK Freelance - In a measure to reassure neutral citizen, and prevent the uncalled-for alleged "reconnaissance" by Omni-AF flights over neutral cities, a small group of neutral engineers, displaced from their former home in Borealis, under funding by Major "Nyadach" Prabel have deployed balloons to stop the flights.

Using state of the art neutral technology, these helium filled lightweight alloy balloons have been deployed over most neutral towns at high-altitude. The specialised alloys used are believed to reflect the majority of current sensor technology, and the small payloads of electronic counter measure equipment which these balloons carry act as a shield to prevent those trying to peer into neutral lands from other aircraft.

The Major was commented in saying, "With the placement of these balloons, along with their sensor jamming equipment we hope to prevent all further flyovers of neutral territory by Omni-AF forces. Doing so will be at their own risk due to the hazards of flying into the cables".

Comments from neutral citizens, including leader neutral organisation the Wolf Brigade, and also chair of the Neutral Defence Initiative (NDI), Angel "Berael" Wolf have been commented in saying, "At least for mew the Major is putting his hot air to good use".

Only time will tell if this move will prove successful or otherwise. But the neutral community is starting to mobilise behind protecting it's property and fellow citizens.

Hey leave off, this is special "tin foil"...not that common ol' garden stuff. We got a great deal on it off RUR, Bazzit and a few other sources so it must be good.

But the fact remains, Omni-AF flights have been dealt with over neutral lands, although that sadly excludes Borealis since it isn't exactly neutral anymore much the shame, and I can't see Pol being overly impressed with a group of Engi's coming out of Newland with a load of balloons and inflating them around town now. But then again, we could also just inflate Chaupin

You use "airplanes" now? I thought you were using specialized reconnaisance aerospace craft?

    How quaint. =)

Heh... I am sure Chaupin meant "air vehicles"...

On the other hand OT does have unmanned probes that can be called "airplanes" as they do use the same principles for propulsion. Old ways are cheaper sometimes.

Just some advice from the Omni-Tek Embassy…

If Omni-AF is conducting surveillance to be used to protect civilians you may find yourselves being brought up on charges.

For example, if the surveillance is being conducted because of intelligence that suggests there may be clan movement in the region you may have charges of aiding and abetting a terrorist organization. If the surveillance is being conducted to provide intelligence on how to better protect civilians from alien assaults you may find charges of endangering the Public Welfare. The list goes on and on depending on the various situations.

So it is the consensus of my attachés and I that we strongly urge the neutral engineers to remove their balloons from Omni-Tek Airspace to prevent any future ill will that could be generated.

As always the Omni-Tek embassy is available for comment or discussion pending the submission of form OTPR-NE036.h

Unfortunatly those balloons seem to have an unpredicted side effect.

At this point it's not clear whether they simply scared off Santa Leets, or does electronic counter measure equipment inside them distort their migrating patterns. I recognize neutrals wish for privacy, so I blame this on OT.

If everyone stayed with Omni-tek, there wouldn't be clan and there wouldn't be a war. without a war there wouldn't be neutrals who would fill the skies with stupid balloons which may cause the electric interference that might cause distortions in the migrating patterns of the santa leets.

Don't blame Omni-Tek for your own mistakes.

So um, you've put sensors on these baloons. And they're in the sky. And... we control the weather, right?

Stop trying to cover up the Santaleet disappearance on us. They were missing a long time before we started construction of the balloons. And its you lot who killed all Rubi-kan fish life, and it wouldn't surprise me after all these many years of trying to exterminate the poor ol' leet, you goofed again and murdered the Santaleet population as well.

Omni-tek abandonned any hopes of controlling RK weather when, only 2 years after they installed the equipment, Rubika rebelled by forming a storm so strong it entirely destroyed most of the weather control equipment.

In fact, weather control was one of the first demands of the colonists, and it's still not a problem that is essentially " fixed".

Nope, we wont have to. The laundry list that you've already done to yourself, why would we need to?

Can I ask you a serious question, Chaupin? How does a man of your intelligence and wit get to have a command position?

Woah there, don't start using the heavy artillery. If we continue with this run for weaponry we'll end with water ballons. You imagine ? Water ballons !

Eventually there will be enough balloons to lift the city, creating "Jobe II".
