IRRK - Pilgrims leave civilisation in search of answers

Legacy Clan "The Pilgrims" fulfilled their recent pledge to depart the populated areas of Rubi-Ka yesterday, with several groups abandoning the Clan cities in search of new answers in the non-terraformed, or 'Outzone' areas of the planet.

In Old Athen, Pilgrim Visionary "Faroas" was leading a contingent of Pilgrims on their new journey. "We're quite excited to be following in the footsteps of our forefathers, and beating a new path for our people once again. However, of course, we're saddened to leave behind our homes and friends."

"But these are the things that we must sacrifice, if we are to fufill our destiny, and learn more about the planet." said Faroas.

Citizens of Old Athen were somewhat confused by the departure of the Pilgrims. Some, even dismayed by what they saw as an 'Abandonment' of the Clans, and the Council of Truth.

"We're only abandoning the belief that the only answers to be found on this planet are within the areas we've already explored. To find new answers, one must go beyond the limits that we already know, and continue to explore."

"To not explore new areas, is to accept the current world as the final product. We see it (The Planet) as a continually evolving being. We too, must evolve with it." said Faroas.

When asked about the decision to leave the Clans and the Council of Truth, the Visionary responded, "In this new age of conflict between The Clans and Omni-Tek, and with the Council of Truth adopting far more hostile views towards the crisis, we feel that our desire for peace is being drowned out by the cries for further military action. Something we simply cannot support."

Whilst few citizens believe survival in the 'Outzones' is possible, the Pilgrims have the repuation of their pre-decessors for inspiration. "The Pilgrims survived for many, many years wandering the deserts around Newland. This is just another challenge for us, and we will survive."

A child of Pilgrim parents, eight year old "Mattia" has seen very little of the world outside Old Athen, but still, seems excited at the prospect of leaving everything behind.

"The Visionary is taking us on a long journey, but he says when we get there, we're going to be happy forever!" she said. When asked what she'll miss most about Old Athen, she responded, "The Bronto Burgers! I really like them, but Dad says we might have to find something else to eat on Sundays..."

They left the city limits with little fanfare, and are certainly prepared for a long expedition. "We have a very long way to go, there's no doubt. But with every step we take, we're one step closer to finding our place on the planet..." remarked Visionary Faroas.

"The answers are out there. We just need to go beyond the boundaries to find them."

They left the city limits with little fanfare, and are certainly prepared for a long expedition.

But have made some great friends within the Neutral Community, including the Shadow Atlantians, Exalted, and the Newland Council (Rimor). For their dedication to their own goals and ambitions, and to embrace what the Neutrals stand for .. "free thinking" not being forced by a corporation, or political machine into one way of thinking, but instead bravely taking the less desired, more difficult path. Kudos to the Pilgrims, may I wish to be as faithful and dedicated to a cause such as they are.

It is a sad day to see them depart the political, and even "so called" civilised areas of Rubi-ka. And it is such a shame that such well thought out, and wise beleifs in how to improve things were shunned by others they tried to teach thier ways too. It's sad that some of the Clans see that the Pilgrims are abandoning them, yet really if anything, or anyone is to blame it is those in the Clans for listening to those from the Pilgrims who were trying to teach them a better way...it's such a shame that a group like this has been lost to the Clans.

I wish them will with the journey which they have decided to go on. The Pilgrims have always been an inspiration to me, and in many ways we have followed similar paths. And I hope that our paths may join again sometime further down the long road which we all lead.

It's quite a decision, but it's true that the outzone is surely hiding something. I feel that Rubi Ka is incomplete and there is many to find in the non corporate approved areas.

Too bad the Pilgrims are going out of reach, more sane clans going out of the scene leaving more space for gun loving freaks. Oh well, for a while I tought that I would run out of enemies and now I'm getting more then needed.

I'm trust the Pilgrims that once they find the anwser to all our problems they'll hide it from us so we don't screw up.

I wonder if the Pilgrims were aware that they could have picked up Omni-Tek application forms and delivered them to our officials instead of this futile attempt in finding anything in the Outzones.

Oh well, if this starts a trend within the clans, I wont object.

Perhaps, I do not understand why these people go to such lenghts to 'understand'. Never in my pupils have I seen 'understanding' being used as a bat.

They are not using understanding as a bat, nor are they wishing people to understand them, they are just following what it is that they do.

Takes a lot of will to get up and say "No more" and walk away from something that has gone on for generations

Maybe the pilgrims will get lost out in the outzones and we won't have to discuss them ever again...Lets get back to better subjects such as....Lets say killing, I was given these hands for one reason...to hold my dual rapiers and let them pierce the flesh of my foes..(unless that foe happens to be a heckler then i guess to pierce the stone shell of my foes)...anyway's let them go and search...maybe a wolf or something will take care of them

Let us just make certain that these 'pilgrims' are indeed doing what they claim to. And remain safe while doing it.

I will recommend a couple of squads of Unicorn to escort them while roaming in the outzone. We know how dangerous those areas are. What if something bad happened to them? Rumors of Dusters and Legionnaire encampments, as well as alien ground bases, may be true after all.

Then the clans would immediatly blame Omni-Tek.

We can't have that.

Good point the clanners look for any reason to blame us for actions we did not take...so lets help them explore that wastelands and hey who knows maybe they'll find something usefull..
