OTPC - In a surprise press release from Omni-Admin this morning, Omni-Tek announced that going forward, the Board of Directors meetings would permit attendees to carry weapons.
"After careful discussion with Mr. Zora and Mr. Zeiler, we have come to the conclusion that allowing individuals to attend the Board Meetings armed poses no threat to the security of Omni-Tek or its personnel," explained Lieutenant General Robert Rosuma of Omni-AF. "Given the location and size of the facility, our personnel have the benefit of speedy control of defense and grid systems, in addition to rapid deployment of troops. There is also of course the direct control over the suppression system."
"I am confident that this will be a gesture of good faith to some of our more militant affiliates," said Director Darius Zeiler of Omni-Admin. "We have been discussing this policy for quite a while now. Really what it came down to is the fact that we respect our affiliates immensely and have given them a considerable amount of trust. I am sure that granting them the privilege of attending in their combat gear will not be an issue -- in fact, it may be a benefit, as it will keep our troops constantly ready to engage the Clan terrorists."
According to the press release, Omni-Tek has "a significant number of options at its disposal to ensure peace and civility are maintained at all times" during the board meetings.
"It is not a display of force," stated Omni-Tek: Rubi-Ka CEO Tarkhan Zora. "The terrorists of Tir and Athen are all well aware of Omni-Tek's military capabilities, and they fear it. We are merely extending a privilege to our hard-working men and women who come to these meetings straight from the field. We grant them the respect of trusting them to walk armed through our cities and neighborhoods -- I'm not about to distrust them and say they can't walk armed in our offices, either."
The press release states that this new policy is "effective immediately," meaning that starting with the upcoming board meeting, weapons are for the first time officially permitted.
