Thread: What should I mimic in ado?

  1. #1

Question What should I mimic in ado?

ok so my agent is 150 and saved in ado,
I'm not sure which would be best to mimic,
Doctor - my nanoC int isn't good in mimic, can't intsa cast or ch, heals might be ok
Enfo - Mongo - draw agro end up back in reclaim
Crat - Baton - people might want me to join for the 9% baton I could cast, plus I can deal damage
Trader - not really such a good idea
Nt - can't kite, and its pretty useless
    Soldier - TMS reflect shields
    Fixer - No point

my org members said crat, but what do you guys think?

    I usually cycle crat-sold-sold-crat
Rebuff baton when crat is almost running out and go solja for next 2 mimics.
Solja is perfect for offtanking adds, especially with the crazy alpha agents have, perfect doc saviour.

What you mimic should depend on the team your in, no tank go sol... good tank, so so healers.. go doc.. both of the above.. go crat... if its all covered.. NT for pnh/ior etc it really does depend on team make up.. no1 can give a definitive answer here tbh

Oh depends on breed BTW... my agent is trox so going doc for anything but CH in pvp is quite useless, running out of nano in an instant ^^
And even if you have good tank TMS would never hurt, if you accidently steal nano it can save your life

At level 150 you are probably most useful to the team if you cycle through mimics for buffs. Depending on professions already in the team, the most popular ones would be:

Adventurer: Morphs. Pick up a heal for support healing as well.
Bureaucrat: Baton. Can also charm a couple of cripplers if you get bored, and try your luck at calming adds.
Doctor: Hp and nano init buffs. Your heals may not be good enough to be a primary healer, but ubt (or rapid palsy if you can't cast that) helps a lot.
Enforcer: Essence, CS and the init buffs. Use challenger to add to your own damage and cast layers on the tank if he's going down fast, or on squishies in the team as a buffer against stray hits.
Engineer: Extreme Prejudice if someone needs pistol buffs, and make sure you cast slayerdroid transference to entertain your team mates ;p
Fixer: Not particularly useful to mimic in SL.
MA: MoP/RI. The short term energy damage buff goes well with SPB. Doing a little support healing won't hurt either.
MP: Mochams, web, and might as well bring out Restite for some additional healing.
NT: PNH/IOR. Some might want range increaser as well. Having a calm for adds and layers can be useful.
Soldier: Riot Control, Automatic Targeting and Offensive Steamroller are popular buffs. Have TMS ready for when you get agg.
Trader: Some teams, ones with lots of MAs in particular, will love you if you keep team skill wrangler running at all times. Calms can be a life saver.

Anyway, I've probably forgotten some important skills to pick up, but this should get you started. I usually ask if someone needs NT buffs first, if not I go crat for baton. The most common cycle would be Crat->NT->(adv/ma/enf) ...and back to crat again to refresh baton. You can squeeze in 4 professions in a cycle if you're good at refreshing buffs right before mimic expires, but remember that some buffs like RI and CS have shorter than 1 hour duration.

That pretty much sums it all up. Except on the Fixer part, you can meep your team when the tank dies and you all jump to RK! (Quickly at least)

No... you can meep the team to get back faster after everyone panics and jumps off the brink ;p

To be fair to mimic fixer it does have some uses even in SL. Semi-Sentient Augmentation Cloud (and even Improved Semi-Sentient Augmentation Cloud if you can get that) are better use of ncu than assassin's grin. Advs and shades might want backpain, so pick up that... and every little bit of healing helps, so don't forget to use Omni-Med Incursion and whine about not having access to long term HoTs. The only reason I can see for using mimic fixer in SL in the first place is if someone unequipped a scope and needs blood makes noise and karma harvest to get it back on, though.

nnooo! on the reference thread again!
People are going to start thinking I'm a n00b!
    Oh wait... I am....
I've leveled a bit so heres my advice,

Wait for teams (You may have to wait AGES) go lft saying "Ado have 9%" so people know you can give them extra xp
Cast it wait till mimic/fp/assume runs out, cast mimic : sold (Make sure you have TMS, RK Soldier reflect shield don't work in the SL, TMS just as you see "Attacked by heckler" (or wait till your hit)

DON'T AS right away, give the tanking a little longer to build ago if its not a enf,
level to 160 a leach in and in a pen mission

If you want win dd competition, go ma and use chem fist nano , but don't forget that you will have to change aruls for cham dmg ones for this to work best

almost always mimic doc. at 150+ with the right equipment you are as effective as any other doc up to 175(for CR). e.g. nano bracers, genius 2, 250-300 compiler, rapid palsy/lifegiving elixer.
I have been in good ado heck teams in which my agent was the main healer.

if u have a good tank and doc, go enf / trader for more dmg, crat for xp (hate baton personally but u hav calms)

I used to cycle Crat and Doc (Lifegiving Elixir is castable and helpful at this level, and CH will get you killed anyway), except when there was a Fixer in team: in this case, i used to cycle between buffing profs (usually Crat/Enfo/Soldier/MA/NT).
