Thread: An idea for hard to find nano's

Post An idea for hard to find nano's

Make nullity and grid armor quest rewards. You could even make it like the alvin quest I guess.

Part A.) Find some monsters that have the parts for the grid armor

part B.) Kill some dood that has a special component that is needed to make one of the nanos

    etc...

Making these super rare items as quest rewards would be very good imho, because people could actually obtain them that dont have 150mill to spend on one nano for their twinks.

i agree, that would be nice, i have been looking for a nullity sphere for a long time, this would help me alot, do it Funcom!!!

You know, of course, funcamp would make this 'dood' spawn every 18 hours, place it in camelot dungeon behind tarasque, and give it a 1 in 100 chance in dropping this special component.

Thumbs down That's a BAD idea

In my opinion Nullity sphere/Grid armor should be even more rare than it is now. At least Grid armor is a 'special item', and should be kept special due to it's power. What you guys want is basically to make Terasque killable by a lvl 1 nanomage, so that everybody can have the special items.

Special items should be hard to get, or they wouldn't be special.

Frankly, they still would be hard to get, but for a different reason.

Right now they're special, but only in the sense that they are rare. The only way to find one is to luck into it by spending hours banging away at random monsters hoping to roll a nullity. That's not the way to find a special item. It doesn't do justice to the word.

Instead, a quest would be a great idea. That way at the end of the day you feel like you earned the damn thing. I also would put it out in crystal form and make the crystal no-drop (or make the quests fixer/NT only). That way the only people doing the special fixer/NT quest are fixers and NTs. The way it should be.

    good idea !

there's a real problem with GA. Especially since 14.4 because there are more and more alts fixers buying it at unreasonnable prices.

    errrrm

I agree with the quest thingy. And Rinale what would you think if all your crit nanos were as rare as our Nullity or as th GA since crits nanos gives you Uber power.... And with the system we have now, a lvl 200 with lotta money can simply buy the GA so it s not hard to get Special items like that.

    Wink Egg-cellent Idea

Quests! I love them! and yes, the grid armor and other nifty nanos should be questable, absolutely. If they made the quests doable of course, and not impossibly long camps so forth, that would kinda make it pointless. Yep, quest the stuff, awesome idea.

I love quests, there shold be a LOT more in AO period.

    Cool

The point with GA is that a fixer can manage without it, the GA is a bonus item. It makes it alot easier being a fixer, but it's not vital.
And that's why I think it should be rare. I mean, there's alot of fixers above 150 without it, aren't there?
(Tries not to step on any toes here

And crit nano's are nice, but not vital, unless you plan on taking on orange/reds solo. Of course it's always nice to shorten the fight times a bit

Thumbs down Still a bad idea...

Bleh... why not make quests for completed Virral eggs, full set of DeCranum Mk2 and Fredriksson's Assault rifle at the same time then...

One week after your quest idea gets implemented, you won't see a single fixer without a GA, not a single NT without Nullity, the idea stinks.

    Reason?

The reason to this might not be the credit exploit, cuz I know fixers are really good at blitzing missions, and a bored highlevel fixer would collect a good couple of mills every night. I wish I could do so (ma) I can try, and sometimes I manage to run em 100% missions.

If I could only make around 200Mills so that I can buy a West Wind katana *pouts*

    ....

^^ Bump the damn rare items, make the kewl people get em ^^

(And when ya guys are at it, slide me a ql200 west wind.)

    Ouch, my toes!!!

I'd very much like to see GA as a quest reward. Look at the team version of the fixer grid. Pretty damn hard to get, but you really feel like accomplishing something when you finally get it.

Exclamation Couple of mils a night???

My fixer is around lvl 120, I need 10 minutes for 1.2mils.
7 minutes to get three missions and get to the sites, 3 minutes for blitz on average.

    Exclamation Schma...

    Darn, stop posting so fast
    ------------------------------------

The second part of the fixer quest isn't very hard, it's just about having patience and get one mob to spawn out of two possible...

Same as when you hunt for a specific nano, like a Nullity. You don't find it right away, but you have to look for it, unless you're relying on dumb luck.

If they should ever make GA/Nullity as quest reward, then I hope they have the decency to make a boss like Terasque drop it.

Yeah and GA as NS MKII permit Nt or Fixer to solo Red ones, as MAs do with their crit nanos Rinale

  17. #17
hmmm, i agree for GA MKI-II and NS MKI
    but not for the rest.

Ok deal, make VS and UVC rare too, problem solved :P

Well not all classes are supposed to be assault specialists, fixers are AO's rogues, they aren't some heavy soldier clones that should be able to take on red mobs alone, they're support chars.

And that's why I think GA should be a RARE nano

Same as Nullity, I mean gee... what would Gandalf do without all the pesky opifex... err... elves and soldiers? ......not alot! powerful NT's? Yes. But they shouldn't be able to fend off melee fighters in close combat like they were flies while chucking nukes at opponent, if they really should have that ability, then I think it should be rare.

Either that, or give all melee fighters a quest for green nano resist
    skill :P

  19. #19

    hehe

No matter i ahve NS MKI and MKII anyway ;p

I personally think that NS MK1 should be quest, and GA 1 or 2 should be quest. The higher level NF's have alot more worth and could be left rare, as they are already.

Both of the Nullity and Grid armor lines have higher level nanos. For one, there is no sense making a question for all the discs. And for two there has to be some worth for all the people who've spent 100's of millions of credits, or just as many hours trying to get the discs.

But I think everyone can agree that Nullity mk1 and GA Mk1 are not worth -as- much, in a monetary sense, as their more advanced variations. I'd be happy to do a quest that cost me a mil (for example) to do every try and had a relative failure rate. That way it doesn't come of nothing.

Let the lesser versions be quests, leave the highers as rare as they are currently. That seems fair to me.

I've been at claws for several weeks, on and off, with no luck. It's not fun, any fool can see that.
