Interview with Nuser, President of the NLF
February 28, 29480 - Bob Ryzak Marley [Atlantean]
IRRK Freelance - At the Omni-Pol Officers Ball, I met Nuser, president of the Nanomage Liberty Front. So I asked her,
"Why did you decide to change your manifesto?"
Nuser: Because we for several years have trying to reach our goal by violent measurements.
Ryzak: And that didn't work?
Nuser: and how now realised it has brought us nowhere.
Nuser: And we realised we had been mistaking all along and are now admitting it by changing the manifesto.
Ryzak: So what are you going to do now?
Nuser: We have chosen a more peaceful approach.
Nuser: Trying to work on a mutual agreement among our former enemies.
Ryzak: Who exactly is your former enemies?
Nuser: Miners, soliti and opifex.
Ryzak: What did they even do to anger the Nanomages?
Nuser: It does not matter now. Now does it?
Nuser: Its in the past.
Nuser: If you have further questions please don't hesitate to ask.
Nuser: All we want is peace on Rubi-Ka.
Ryzak: What kind of mutual agreement are you by the way talking about?
Nuser: Lower the mining so mages are able to survive and miners can still mine for a living.
Ryzak: Sounds good.
Ryzak: But why would miners stop mining?
Ryzak: I mean they don't get any benefits from your survival.
Nuser: I will not tell them to stop mining but just not to over-mine.
Nuser: They wont benefit from mining Rubi-Ka dry of notum either.
Ryzak: It will run out of notum anyway, wont it?
Nuser: I truly hope it wont.
Ryzak: I think it will.
Nuser: If they keep on mining it will.
Nuser: Which is why i would like to ask for this agreement between mages and the miners to see IF notum replenish if the mining is lowered to a more reasonable stage.
Ryzak: what if it doesn't replenish?
Nuser: We will take it from there. But the NLF will not turn violent again.
Ryzak: How are you going to stop the miners from over-mining?
Nuser: I hope they will do it of their own free will. That they wish to save the nanomage breed just as much as the NLF does.
Ryzak: Why would they care if your breed survives?
Ryzak: Nanomages are not useful for mining.
Nuser: (Nuser shrugs) Concern for others...and if nothing else their own pockets. Once they have dried up Rubi-Ka there is nothing left for either of us.
Ryzak: Right.
Ryzak: So they will probably go to another planet and mine there.
Ryzak: And you will die.
Nuser: Aye.
Nuser: But so far violence has lead us nowhere.
Nuser: So our only option is to change.
Ryzak: Well yeah, it is.
Ryzak: But I don't think that its going to help you in your cause at all.
Nuser: Neither will violence.
Ryzak: I actually think it did.
Ryzak: A little.
Ryzak: I wouldn't mine notum if there was some terrorists threatening me all the time.
Nuser: Records shows it haven't.
Ryzak: Hm.
Nuser: Of course if the miners refuse we will get back to ripping down the mines. But we will not resort to terrorism and breedism.
Ryzak: Isn't ripping down mines terrorism?
Nuser: No... that would be war. Blowing up a skybar or killing innocent people is terrorism.
Ryzak: So what you tell me is, that you would start a war against the miners if they don't stop mining as much as they do?
Nuser: Of course. We can not just stand idle watching them killing us.
