I hope the title didn't throw too many away because I can obviously say more here. I decided to start up a doctor guild here on AO because I feel it will be innovative and I know there is no other doctor guilds on the clan side.
The objective behind such a guild as this is to ensure the well being of our clan brothers and sisterssa. As doctors we don't take an overly active role in clan politics, but we let our voice be heard. I plan on having The Medical Board be the base for all of the clan's medical needs. If a doctor or 2 is needed for an operation they can come to us, if there is an event or gathering going on and they need medical personnel incase something breaks out we're there, and etc...
Also in the future if there is enough members I would like to one day set up a literal hospital in Rubi-Ka where there will be doctor's on duty and help will be available for all clanners. Ok enough about that, i'm sure you get the point that there are REAL plans and not being an "uber dok guild". If you don't believe me, i'd be happy to elaborate more to anyone who asks.
I have been playing AO for well over a year and have been in guilds for most of my time so I am experienced in how they work and hopefully how to run them effectively, but I am always open to recommendations. I am also a doctor and as so I have always wanted to be in a guild where it's all doctors and it's more or less a utopia for all doctors.
This guild will be involved in the RP aspects of AO (otherwise guilds would get very boring eventually), but will not overly force RPing inside the guild itself, only in public.
We are based on RK-1 and we are a Clan guild. I myself am a Lv. 128 Atrox Doctor. The only members so far are myself and one other. I am obviously looking for doctors mainly, but there will also be a small section of the guild open for anyone who wishes to be the security force (mainly enfs and sols will be recruited, but others are very free to ask). As doctors we aren't the strongest people on the block so might need the escort services of a friendly neighborhood buff guy and what better then having some security bodyguards on staff (also you get to be around docs 24/7, no more buff begging =)~ ).
The requirements for joining are pretty simple:
1. Be mature and don't make the guild look like a middle school playground
2. When in a very public place on Rubi-Ka make sure to RP the role of a Medical Board doctor so that people can take notice of us.
3. No selling of buffs or items within the guild, everything will be shared and if someone needs something we will be there to help whether it's a special item or those extra credits that seem to always evade you.
*4. (Doctors only) - When you are out and about on Rubi-Ka offer treat buffs, iron circle, hp buffs, etc.. for free. We are a doctor guild and as such we need to be the true generous healers and caretakers and not greedy doctors who turn away patients.
5. Treat your fellow Medical Board members with the respect they deserve. That also applies to fellow clanners you may meet in your travels unless they treat you otherwise.
*- for those who are worried they will be ruined if they give away doc buffs for free, I vow to finance everything you need as far as nanos go and most other needs or we as a guild can mission or share whatever is needed.
I hope that explains most of what The Medical Board is all about. I have high hopes and much determination for this guild and I would be honored to work with any who wish to join.
So remember, whether you're a fighting doc, pure healing doc, enf/doc, MA/Doc, nano, solitus, opifex, or atrox you have a place in The Medical Board.
