    We asked for this countless times, and I seriously doubt that it will ever happen.

    I understand priorities though, and a lot of the changes we have seen so far seem to have been necessary, so I wont cry over apartments even though I can't imagine why they wont let us put real furniture in them and a few more items. Why even have the damn things then ? Why not just remove them altogether??

    Anyway, I think I would rather have the ability to capture territory and see something stir up the somewhat absent conflict (see absent in-game story posts).

    This game seems like it is really becoming a sci-fi EQ without the abundance of unique dungeons and rare spawns, planes, etc. If this game is going to be a level, loot, and dungeon game, then give us the dungeons and rare spawns and crap like EQ and get it over with. If this game is to really be anything like the game I signed up for, something needs to be done because the same old routine is killing the desire to keep playing.

    I don't know, maybe after playing so many MMORGs UO, AC, EQ, DAOC, I got so sick of seeing the same thing with a twist. Maybe I'm jaded.

    Seriously FC.... Give us all some love, Add in some heart shape beds and err....=] i mean some beds/other various funiture, would be a great addition to something that should already be done!
    And the 10 items per apt thing, thats just pathetic, what the heck is anyone going to do with ten items?
    Erp! I'd love to see some apt design contest going.!
    O and a GREAT GREAT addition to all of this would be some nice guild mansions, that would ownzers up! I mean, really that would be tiiiighhhhttttt, and give us all a nice refreshing look at AO, besides the usuall mindless mission running!

    It's just one of those things that i thinkl will keep people arounda bit longer and make the game more interesting eh? =p and from a game mechanics point of veiw it sure doesnt offset any class, doesnt tie into pvp/pve, wtf is wrong with givin us all a little something eh

    Lets Try this also to save memory allow more items per apartment but let the apartment be shared by all of the accounts chars just a thought.

    FUNCOM! THE PEOPLE WANT APARTMENTS!

    How many times have we asked and not been given a positive respose? MILLIONS OF TIMES!!

    ok heres how it goes.... a HUGE percentage of the players of AO are, to some extent, roleplayers right?... how do you keep these roleplayers paying you to sit on your butts Funcom? You GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT! How do you cut costs? Hmmm lets see, you dont have enough memory? what a shame... oh wait yes you do! you have access to thousands of PC's all over the world, they download your patches regularly and send you a datastream everday!..
    ...Funcom... seriously... there is a better excuse than "we strive for stability and balance within the game"... how about this one:
    "YES PLAYERS! hmmm you know what... we're actually going to do what you pay us to do, we're going to provide you with a service that you want! We're going to get up off our arses, stop browsing porn at work and ordering pizza with account profits and we're going to do what is written in our job description - we're going to do some serious programming!" I mean come on... how hard is it to draw out some map plans for apartment upgrades? and even better than using your own memory... when a player makes and edits their apartment, they should keep the data stored on their own computer in a new file format only recognised by your servers, instead of using up your bandwidth when a team enters an apartment, they can use information from the owners PC to render the apartment they are located in, ITS SOOO SIMPLE! all it takes is a little creativity and originality, if you look at it that way, they could even create their own textures and customise even more right?

    .... I totally and fullheartedly support the idea for apartment upgrades and its time funcom realised that this is what their customers want... one of the reasons so many people have cancelled their accounts is because they got bored with AO and the broken promise of it being the greatest OnlineRoleplaying game ever made.

    Why are you planning an expansion pack when you cant even run the original properly? A Program is only as good as the people working on it, I'm not saying that you are bad programmers or pathetic at maintaining the customers needs, oh no I would never say that! but what I would say is that there is still a huge amount of work to do to fullfill your promises of being the best MMORPG out there, its not graphics or effects that make a game great, its the community and the gameplay, enhance your sense of community and you have a great game to call the best!

    I think Animosity might have written some of the code I've been trying to debug recently...

    The gist of what he's trying to express is:
    Funcom's a decent company and if they had the time, money, equipment, and monpower to do everything, they would. Furthermore, if the game sucked that bad, you'd quit and stop posting here.

    As many other's also have said this might now come now but actully might come in Future shadowlands... who knows? =) But however it would be very sweet to have a nice 2-story with view (static then of course) To look out from.

    After some time

    Ok,

    Now that I have played for quite some time, this is what I want in my apartment:

    Instant healing / restore, and unlimited nano for self buffing. This would not seriously affect gameplay as you cannot really do much damage right next to the apartments anyway. This would be very helpful for the putting your game face on / self buffing that comes as part of every mission.

    Expanded item interaction. I want to be able to furnish my apartment, and then actually recline on my furniture. some of my characters want to make there apartments into mini temples, some into major shag pits. (complete with shag carpeting and wallpaper)

    Allow others into your appartment, but not take advantage of special features there.

    Expanded bank access functionality. I often find I have many backpacks to sort through after an evening of missions, It would cool to be able to open four or five backpacks at once, have the bank behave more like a backpack when you are in your apartment and so on.

    I would also love to be able to store way more things in my apartment, like a bank, or to have the apartment as a quasi representation of the bank.

    Also, I want to see the actual items in rather than boxes and cubes. This would also take some work, as more items would have to be added, but it would make for easier sorting for me... and SHELVES!!!

    A window / patio overlooking the backyard area.

    Now, I know that there are much greater issues to work on at present, but if you wanted to add a bit more viceral aesthetic appeal to the game, this would be where I would add some work.

    I don't know if you've seen it, but according to AO Vault's Developer Q&A, I doubt we'll be seeing apartments any time soon.

    The full article can be found here, but here are two quotes that seem to sum it all up:

    Q: Are there any planned upgrades for apartments?

    A: We have no plans for upgrading existing apartments in the near future. We would prefer to do organization housing instead of - or at least before - upgrading apartments.

    Q: Are we ever likely to see guild housing in AO?

    A: Yes, very likely. We do have a design ready, though it's not scheduled in our immediate plans just yet.
