    Unhappy

18 chapters is not long for a novel, the online version already reached chapter 10. Too much hassel to order it for such a short book. Good story though, I'll more inclined to buy it if it is longer.

It's 331 pages! That's a fairly decent-sized novel - perhaps not by modern epic fantasy/sci-fi standards, but certainly by non-genre standards - and it's a nice, high-quality hardcover edition as well.

Of course, the whole novel will be serialised on the site, but books are always better in print!

    gah

Reminds me I got some reading to do. I just tought the pdf on the SE cd was well the same as the chapters on mainsite.
I too tought it ended at chap 10 lol.
Tought I did know that it would be serialized. (maybe get Dag to fix the info to make this more clear?)

Gah I'm only halfway the this.

I'm very impressed with Ragnar's writing ability. I look forward to reading more of his works in the future. If you don't have the book and are thinking about it, get it!

What? It is? I never noticed, and I have the AO:SpEd too.
Maybe after I read the whole thing I'll be able to figure out Farmetek's motivation for wiping most the human race.
    That part seriously confused me.
Then I thought it was the end, and I was left baffled.

    AO Timeline

    Greetings.

I devoured the chapters available on the AO Website some months ago, which ended at chapter 7. Great ending! WOW! Then...woah!...another chapter is released on the website?! Oh, the book's not done? Far out! *devour more*

I got the Special Edition recently, and read the PDF format of the whole book. Then, I read it again. I'm utterly addicted to this storyline!

Then, I picked apart the timeline in the book, and read it again, to make sure I caught more subtle hints and nuances and tied events together a bit better in my mind. I'm SO glad I read this book. It should be manditory reading for anyone who plays this game!! Having a "bigger picture" perspective has increased my understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of the game a hundred-fold. I truly hope there will be a continuation--a sequel (Book 2)--at some point in the future. Yes yes, I know, I'm a gushy Ragnar fan-girl, but durnit, this is a great book!

I laid out a timeline following the book (page numbers correlate to the PDF format), and timeline info and articles available on the AO website. Please, read the book in it's entirety, as it was meant to be read--cover-to-cover--before sifting through it in chronological order.

    Be well!

I'm not entirely sure about this. But don't all books have individual ISBN numbers? And as such should be possible to order from books stores? Anyway. (/me scans her book quickly) This books ISBN number is: 82-995961-0-6

Oh. And did I mention. It's signed for me.

Yes, most (not all) books have an ISBN number that NORMALLY makes them available for order through major bookstores, but not always. Some books are not made available to mainstream distribution...whether they have an ISBN or not. This may be the case with Prophet Without Honour. I work at Barnes and Noble, so I'll do some digging to see if it's available, but it sounds like others have already done this.

I concur...this book is fantastic and the author's writing style is exquisite.

Thumbs up Two thumbs way up

I bought AO special edition and had to read it pdf (much prefer hardcover versions though). The story is GREAT and I'm not really a science fiction fan either. The ending leaves me begging for more and I REALLY am hoping that a second book will come out some time soon. I'm thinking that if it were to come out though it would be after the games online story happens. (shrugs) Any thoughts on that?

    Thumbs up KUDOS

I bought the hardcover version and must say I'm VERY impressed. Yes the ending really makes You beg for more!!!

It was a pretty expensive book with shipping and all, but well worth it (ok it's not "The reality Dysfunction" but nothing compares to that book, hehe)

    Thumbs up Great Story!

I'll add my comments that the book is a good read! Well done that man!

Y'know, the stuff described in the book could set the scene for a fantastic computer game. Wonder if the IP holder has considered that?

I've incorporated the book into my roleplay.

My character was a clanner agent until she "appropriated" a copy of the book while on a mission, finding it locked in an omni office. After reading it all (at least what is published online...yeah reading online at work IS easier to get away with than in hardcover), and counting it as an historical account recorded by those that caused the genocide and went into the ARK, she began to look at her world differently and has turned sides.

That's fine by me. Most of the modern epic fantasy/sci-fi books that are the size of phone books suck rhinoman dung.
