Though I think people should stop worrying about the whole 'do I look cool?' or not, you'd be surprised how many people don't care, and those that do.. usually aren't important at all.
Sorry, just find something you like, something that's comfortable, and wear it/do it. Don't try and make statements, otherwise you'll put yourself in a position to always prove things to other people, and that's not a good way to enjoy yourself.
