Beauty! I just downloaded the teaser movie... Combat wont be mandatory - apparently you can get by by hacking as well..
In the teaser theres a Guy with a Submachine Gun... now THATS some nice stuff :c)

a complete flop, gankers paradise, no rp at all and just a griefing game

No PKing unless Duel or Dedicated Zone... i know we heard that before - but the fact they are still holding off from going live (was due in fall 2001 actually) looks promising...

the RP part - well you cant change mankind... RolePlay is just not happening /shrug

we will see I guess... the trailer made me drool tho :c)

its odd, people play role playing games, and never get into the role. whats the point in that? its not a simulation, its a role playing game.

im starting to hate all the l33ts i meet online, no respect for a fellow gamer, i suppose its easy to act like a **** to a faceless player... but still, every game is going to have them, the trick is to find out who they are and ignore them.

it kinda seems a bit of a mix between red faction /halflife and an rpg.

whats the potential for character development? thats what i like in games, for my avatar to grow and gain new abilities. also going to go read the hype material, sieve the bull and try to understand the game mechanics.

no sorry. you can just log in and stand there. our AI sucks as much as AO's does, but we felt that MOBs shooting thru walls is just not cool. So we gave MOBs the ability to move, and you cant. have a nice day.

i had the IDEA that the coders at FC couldnt even program a C64 game... i never knew how close to the truth that was until i read this:

What is the hacking system like?

The hacking system will resemble that of an old C64 game called “Paradroid”. Basically it is a circuit board and you have to connect more circuits faster than the computer. In theory you will be able to hack every terminal (even those in the faction headquarters) to gather classified information. Furthermore there will be special hacking missions , where the hacker has to access a certain terminal and find specific information to claim a reward (experience points, money, special items etc.).

no sorry, only mobs can fire guns, this is being done to prevent exploits that we have discoved in beta.

due to the fact that you can neither move (see above) nor fire guns (see above) theres not really a need for money in Neocron. The good news is you wont need new shoes nor alot of ammo our way.

We will ship a free cucumber sandwich with the game CD tho.

What happens if all of the quests require a higher level than I have?

You will get a message saying 'go play solitaire'. We are very proud of our feedback messages, so don't give us lip about that feature.
