Aralim settled into her kodiak with a frown. She punched up her grid feed and called up the Omni record of Damon "Tarren" Kenley. "Damn Kenleys" she though, and let out a breath. Not 5 minutes earlier she was standing in front of him by the bar of an otherwise deserted Rompa. She had read the reports of past Kenley encounters with Omni Pol, the incident with Unole, and said so. She wasn't sure whether he was up to something new, or was in fact just there for a drink, but decided to let him know she was watching him.
She didn't like being threatened, and he didn't threaten her.....exactly, but there were a lot of inferences. It didn't set her mind at ease. She had nothing to fear, but had enough street sense to feel some concern over the encounter.
She popped the hatch of the kodiak and re-digitized the small vehicle. She felt to agitated to drive safely, she was to tempted to run someone down. She scowled at herself. "Don't let him get to you, he's not worth it" as she strolled off towards Baboon's.
The hair on her neck tickled, that feeling that the night is not all it seems. She paused and glaced back down the road to Rompa. Nothing, just the night air. She slid the latch off the safety of her gamma ejector, for some peace of mind mostly, and walked on.
Baboons lay before her, the beat of the music bleeding out into the street. It should have been distracting, but she still wasn't sure. She looked around again and sighed. "Shame on you girl, you're a proefesional, there were stranger things in the night in the mother Shadowlands, put him out of your mind". Maybe she should just make a grid report on the encounter, and pass it off to someone more objective on it. She punched up a grid feed on her comp. "Operative Aralim, report #148b: Encounter with......"
Aralim looked up suddenly...."What was that?"
