    Bump in the night...

Aralim settled into her kodiak with a frown. She punched up her grid feed and called up the Omni record of Damon "Tarren" Kenley. "Damn Kenleys" she though, and let out a breath. Not 5 minutes earlier she was standing in front of him by the bar of an otherwise deserted Rompa. She had read the reports of past Kenley encounters with Omni Pol, the incident with Unole, and said so. She wasn't sure whether he was up to something new, or was in fact just there for a drink, but decided to let him know she was watching him.

She didn't like being threatened, and he didn't threaten her.....exactly, but there were a lot of inferences. It didn't set her mind at ease. She had nothing to fear, but had enough street sense to feel some concern over the encounter.

She popped the hatch of the kodiak and re-digitized the small vehicle. She felt to agitated to drive safely, she was to tempted to run someone down. She scowled at herself. "Don't let him get to you, he's not worth it" as she strolled off towards Baboon's.

The hair on her neck tickled, that feeling that the night is not all it seems. She paused and glaced back down the road to Rompa. Nothing, just the night air. She slid the latch off the safety of her gamma ejector, for some peace of mind mostly, and walked on.

Baboons lay before her, the beat of the music bleeding out into the street. It should have been distracting, but she still wasn't sure. She looked around again and sighed. "Shame on you girl, you're a proefesional, there were stranger things in the night in the mother Shadowlands, put him out of your mind". Maybe she should just make a grid report on the encounter, and pass it off to someone more objective on it. She punched up a grid feed on her comp. "Operative Aralim, report #148b: Encounter with......"

Aralim looked up suddenly...."What was that?"
When I'm good, I'm very good.
When I'm bad, I'm virtually indistinguishable.

"Damn!" Khuri rubs over her nose.
"Why do they have to find a dead body when am I the only doctor around to write a report about it? Sjeez..." She sighs and shakes her head.

It had been a long day. Trouble in the Boot Camp before, she just wanted to go off duty and to bed, but no. This girl needs to get shot down in front of Baboons right now. Sometimes life was really bugging, but no one ever said her job in Omni-Pol would be easy.
Khuri thought about her first days in the Pol, and her brother. She smiled a bit, then she turned back to the keyboard in front of her.

"Ok, ok, report. Jeez, Khuri, concentrate." She rubbed her eyes, stared on at the monitor and started writing.

    REPORT FILE #228-OE-3453

Subject: Assassination in front of Baboons, Omni-1 Entertainment

The dead body of a young opifex women was found in front of Baboons. No physical violence on body certifiable. Cause of death seemed to be a single clear shot in the neck.

    Name of the victim: Aralim
For the current time there seem to be no witnesses who might have seen the possible assassination.
After reclaim, the women had been cross examined. According to her report she didn't see the person who shot her, neither could she state who her assasin might have been.
During the autopsy of the dead body we had found nothing important beside a golden ring in the pocket of the victim. The victim, Aralim, stated in the cross examination that she had never seen that ring before.
We found out that the victim was in contact with Tarren Kenley before the shooting, a member of the Kenley-family. As for now, Tarren Kenley is a major suspect and should be invited for an interrogation.
As for now everything else is at open hands.
