    Religion in theory works great

Religion used in the real world doesn't, because it's easy to twist it around to jusitify whatever.

Kinda like Communism then. It is an awesome idea, in a way I'm sad that it won't work out.

    one of the "big six"

islam, hinduism, sikhism, buddism (tau / zen / whatever), christianity, and paganism (all subsets, wikan, white, etc, etc).

    thats how i define major.
and eight million hindus can disagree with me, i still think islam is the best major religion.

There are alot of awesome ideas, but how they work in reality produces less then stellar results. Ah well, that's mankind for you.

I think the best religion is the one that works for you. Religion is a method or belief system of how you view and interact with the world. I could be wrong, but hey, The House of Ober is open. Besides, religions are tax free in the states! Send me money!

Don't get too hooked on power. Power is transitory. Right now the U.S. is the most powerful country in the world. At one time England was the most powerful, France was the most powerful, Spain was the most powerful etc. etc.

And a couple thousand years ago, Rome was the most powerful.

It ebbs and flows. The next focus of power may very well be in Asia.

If you have power you have responsibility. Use it well.

See my above point, you are selfish, dont care what happens outside your own livingroom. And if you dont know much about foreign policy, I would guess you dont know much about other countries at all... Which in turn makes it seem a bit strange to see you claim US is the best country in the world...

Killing your own people by executions... Most civilized countries got a law against that. Infact US is very alone among countries such as Iraq, China, North Korea and Russia when it comes to executions of criminals. Hope you got a nice party...

And when it comes to the treatment of taliban prisoners on Cuba, dont get shocked next time you watch TV and see americans tortured to death... In their eyes they deserved it. Its kind of Western to be a little better than such ppl, but not US, they are just as bad as countries like Iraq etc.

Just remember that bragging isn't the best way to make friends, and when the centre of power moves to another nation, you might wanna have some friends, y'know..?

america doesnt need any friends, its so powerful...

except they need allies to clean up after their stray bombs

i dont have a problem with america, i have a problem with george bush - oil millionaire, strangely against research into renewable energy supplies. interesting, wonder if theres a conection there...

I care a lot about others who are important to me (friends and family spring immediately to mind). *You*, on the other hand, can take a flying **** at a rolling donut for all I care.

My elected representatives are doing a pretty good job. If I decide to care, I can educate myself on America's foreign policy in under three hours (the wonder of a free press.)

From what I've seen and heard of Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America, I'd rather live in the US. That makes it the best for me, doesn't it? That's all I care about, really. I'm not going to try to make decisions for other people about where they should live.

Killing your own people by executions... Most civilized countries got a law against that. Infact US is very alone among countries such as Iraq, China, North Korea and Russia when it comes to executions of criminals. Hope you got a nice party...
I don't see how killing people who deserve it is wrong. If someone can demonstrate that there's no possiblity of their adding to society in the future (or at least not significantly subtracting from it), then yes, the death penalty is justified.

And when it comes to the treatment of taliban prisoners on Cuba, dont get shocked next time you watch TV and see americans tortured to death... In their eyes they deserved it.
That last sentence leaves me wondering. In whose eyes do Americans deserve being tortured to death? In any event, if you want to say that the Taliban prisoners are being mistreated, maybe you can cite something for me? I don't know about wherever you are, but in America the burden of proof lies on the accuser.

Its kind of Western to be a little better than such ppl, but not US, they are just as bad as countries like Iraq etc.
./me pulls out the Premium Clue by Four.
    Attacking Garzu...
You hit Garzu for 453 points of Clue damage.

When Bush has New York gassed because they oppose his policies, you can say that, you stupid ****ing moron.
When Bush invades Canada for its timber, you can say that, you stupid ****ing moron.

It's kind of European to be so assured of your superiority to the US that you ignore the evidence of your eyes and ears.

just a quick question englestein, and i know your probabally gonna flame me for it, thats just your style

if you by your own admission dont know much about your own countries forign policy by your own admission, how do you know that your elected representatives are persuinga policy that you like?

thats the point in voting, sitting back and letting someone else make all the decisions while you have very little information is generally not a good idea, the whole point in voting is so you can influence what happens. if you dont take a more active role, you risk loosing what little power the everyday people have. - just my opinion of course, and you probabally dont care.

god bless the US of A

I won't even consider worrying about it until I can vote. Once I get there, Ralph Nader is right. Al Gore would've been two hairs left of center, instead of Bush's two hairs right of center.

If I didn't care, I wouldn't bother to respond. Now, I may believe that I'm always right, but that's a separate matter.

  18. #78
wow, didnt have you down as a nader supporter... we do live and learn

just remember that when you get the right to vote, you should. i do, lib dem all the way, but christ does it cause parental problems

I don't support Nader. I simply don't see a compelling reason to care whether the Democrats or Republicans are in power. Though if it came down to it, I'd probably vote for him as a lesser of the three evils.

    To my friends worldwide,

Certain people are trying to anger you with the standard "America is #1, screw you, antagonism"

I am sorry that the people that represent my country on this forum represent it so poorly.

Most Americans are idiots, most people everywhere are idiots, too. Please ignore them.

To me it is obvious that critical thinkers are similar, despite their country of origin, and we should unite. That is why I like a world-wide game and forum. To break down the walls of ignorance.

To my European friends, my apologies for the idiots who represent my country. Please understand that there are considerate and intelligent people in America.
"So shines a good deed in a weary world."
