Have you even read the book?
I'd probably go see it, the only thing I fear is how badly movies based on games can be. Wing Commander was a fun game with a fairly nice story line, but look how they mangled that in the movie version. I mean, sonar pinging in space, what the heck?!
I'd vote for a Pixar version of AO, I want to see them do something dark.
Opening scene: The AO emblem appears as a dot in the middle of the screen, slowly expanding. Then some message appears out of nowhere that says 'target is out of range.' The emblem get's closer, a new message pops up 'Take it easy.' The emblem gets even closer, it's not practically ontop of the screen, another message pops up, 'Please wait for previous special to complete.' The emblem now fills the whole screen, and yet another message pops up 'Please wait, your items will be reclaimed in 60 seconds.'
The movie then gets all choppy, and the screen turns blue, stating there has been a fatal error....
The pen is mightier than the sword, you say? Very well, get out your pens, essay writers, and prepare to have your logic tested by steel!
At this point.....
As much as they have screwed everything up in the game. They would prolly screw up the movie too. I can see it now........ "Tom Green, Lead Actor", "Fran Dresher, Lead Actress" Hell they would prolly have to put ex-porno stars in there just to fill the bill.

If i wanted a book, i'd have paid the 8 bucks for the paper back.
And frankly, if the book uses teh same whacked out, 'woudn't it be wicked if' science fiction logic that the game has applied, then no way in hell woudl i like book either.
I want the story that echoes the trailer movie. THAT was epic. THAT was pace setting. THAT showed a world with rules and boundaries and a warring frontier.
What do we get?

Movie? Book? Comic Series? Sunday morning funnies is about only thing AO as a story measrues up to. For the love of mike people, hasn't anyone noticed we can't do ANYTHING the characters in the movies do? Like, say, have two people in a truck? hmm?????

Uhh...I think what Gog is trying to say is that the movie should be based on the Prophet Without Honor book and the general AO "feel", not a movie about playing ao...acting out a story in a movie would have to be *totally* different from the way the story is "acted" out in-game.
