hmm, thanks for link , but i think it's VERY outdated, that article includes info that is NOT mentioned in FCs notes.

BTW, if the changes mentioned in that article are in the expansion, FC will have an EXTREEMELY angry population to deal with.... (realese new content that has to be paid for, when they should be busy FIXING the THING THAT ARE STTILL FUK!N BROKEN)!!!!

um... how does this work? Do we buy the new expansion, or does having the expansion increase our subscription rate?

you buy the expansion if you want to go to the new zones
get the perks and use the extra breed/class improvements
get higher quality weapons

if you dont want to buy it you dont have to and you can play the game just as it is now

there is new city/zone Jobe

and there is afterlife shadow world

A question...

Why are they making an expension when the original game still has bugs to be worked out? I really hope FC doesn't lose track of it's priorities. Sure, the game has come a LONG way, but at the same time, it's not complete.

I think like most gaming companies FC has separate teams working on different things. There is a live team working on bugs, patches, etc. And another team that works on expansions and stuff. That is just the way companies like FC structured so no use to complain unless you think our voices can make FC go through an internal restructuring.

I'm saying that they should have stayed as 1 team twice as big that fcused only on perfecting the original, before thinking about an expansion.

People, People! How do you pay someone to fix bugs in a game without paying them? How will your developers finish the new zones without a paycheck? It may just be me, but a lot of companies have been having financial troubles for over a year, but then again the people who make games do it for pure fun, it isn't a "job" or anything. If you like AO at all you'll realize something, maybe I should think before I complain. The expansion is meant to bring in revenue and fix your game!
Funcom said they would not put in any new zones unless an expansion was made, yet people kept saying, "where is Jobe." Why repeat yourself when you told people already. And you don't have to dig for the info!
I for one was concerned my subscription was running out this week, but I still have a month. I don't powerlevel, I've only twinked a single character out of many crappy ones. I like AO, but I wouldn't die for it. AO is fun, I like it, and to show my support I will buy the expansion, and no, there isn't going to be an increased monthly charge, unless they don't make the expansion. hell, we're getting a lot of stuff I think. Jobe isn't going to be the only zone, plus a new realm entirely? Whoa! We can specialize ourselves further? Neat-o I say. What about the fact the title cap is getting raised, and they stated more added content? $20-40 isn't going to kill me. Either I move to a whole new game for $40, or I make an already good game better for something that mostly likely won't be $40.
Scarey enough, if I was Funcom, I'd probably have to cut back on Development to save funds and raise your monthly fees. But of course the general public is once again un-aware of when they are getting cut a good deal. Of course, I'm right.
It will however be annoying to get a mission or go hunting with a group with the expansion to a new zone and the Doc is the only one who doesn't have the expansion. Back to the lfg channels I guess!

More to the point, how do you pay a World Builder to fix bugs?

You can still play AO even if you don't buy the expansionpack. You can just not use the new proffession specialisations, go see the new areas etc.... You can still play the game as it is today. They will still try to fix the bugs that are still in here.

But if you want to go to the island of Jobe, you need to buy the expansionpack. If you want the new features, you need to buy the expansion pack. When I buy it (and I certainly will!), my money goes to FunCom, and in addition of getting some new stuff for my favourite game (I guess you could call me a fanbiy. heh), I also help keeping FunCom and thus the game alive (it is no secret that they've had their share of financial problems).

Every other mmorpg out there does the same. EQ has what? 5 expansionpacks or something?

oh, and I hope they put somehting neat in the box, like a T-shirt (so I can have 2 T-shirts ), or a calender with neat drawings or a fluffy leet doll or something. Maybe a poster?

heh, I like that idea. When you squeeze it's fuzzy stomach, it could squeak out "I'm uber!". And you could then beat it with a lead pipe to relive the tension you build up from lack wits useing leet-speak all the damn time (um, sorry. personal thing there. Ignore me. I have problems)

Personally, I'd really like a fuzzy Tarasque doll. It's probably the only way I"ll ever see the mob, since he's so camped :P
