When i used to play Asheron's Call, There were all kinds or third party programs for it.
Some of which made it so u could customize your AFK messages, and let me tell you, that was a hit!

AO could be the first MMO (in my narrow little mind) to editible AFk messages! (correct me if im wrong)
Actually, now that I think about it, you could probably modify the helpbot code to reply with an AFK message.. however, i think it only works on Linux atm. Perhaps someone would be interested in writing a java version that you type in the message in a box then click a "set" button.Originally posted by Tieku

if you run a bot (which connects to the chat server) you can either run the character in the game or run the bot, you can't have the bot run while you are logged into the game
what we need is a way to run the chat client seperate from the game, but that would be hard with the vacinity type chats

/afk My highest wrangle is +10 if you wanted to know.
/afk I don't have the +80 treatment buff because I spent all that IP on tutoring

Also, the AFK should not Auto-Loop with someone elses AFK. If someone sends you an AFK message, who is also AFK you get something like this:
n00b and Lamer are both AFK

What's funny is everytime i've gone afk, i've thought to myself "man, wouldn't it be nice to customize my afk message?". Cheers to you for actually making a thread about it, I don't think I ever would have gotten around to doing it.
To whom is may concern, Cosmik, CZ, anybody:
This is a good idea with no drawbacks, I WANT to see this put into place NEXT PATCH! It shouldnt be that hard to do, and would improve upon the overall (enjoyableness) of the game, and communication!
