I agree
Basically, you're waiting in BS to find a group. Someone asks you if you want to do a mission in Avalon where there is less lag. An engineer warps you to Mort, and you get ganked by 5 people.
I personally hate missions, and missions are the same whether there in BS or anywhere else. But how would you prevent this from happening?
1) Equip your Yalmaha prior to being warped
2) If you get warped to Mort, fly like hell
Thats about the only way, unless you’re a quick thinking fixer, who has their 3 second grid nano handy
Can an Engie warp you while you're in a Yal?
Yes
Why is this an exploit, and why is Funcom policing this practice?
I'm not FC, but here is why I think they may take that view.
The AO servers at the moment are classified as blue servers/carebear servers, as such theres a ethical code I guess FC wants players to abide by. I do have to agree, thats a very rotten thing to do, PvP servers (if FC had any) are far more liberal (best example is EQ) and this kind of thing FC would not care about, after all PvP servers are dog eat dog so to speak. Non PvP (which sadly were stuck with) servers always have tighter regulations on how players treat each other, its usually a play fair and play nice attitude. If you break that then FC is not going to like it.
I for one am not against FC classifying that as an exploit. I would never use it myself (unless there was someone who really annoyed me), what little honour code I do have in AO would prevent me from contributing to that, besides theirs no challenge to that fight (for me to do it, I would have to have a personal grudge against the player
). The guys gonna die no matter what and he/she will offer no challenge in that setting. If there is not an event where killing the other side is the sole aim, whats the point? Only die hard griefers do that kind of stuff.
