August 14.29471 RST
"This is not right!" the man slammed his fist against the table getting the attention of the two young twins and his wife. They immediately looked to him.
"What is it?" the wife asked of him quickly.
"Love, listen to this: 'August 14.29471 RST. News Flash! The Tir Accord seems to be holding though a cross-fire was reported between the two sides. Early reports show that Omni-Tek invaded into a small outpost trying to *reclaim* what is *rightfully* theirs. If such actions continue, war may start up again.' What right do they have to do such a thing!"
"Maybe they should not have taken the land in the first place?"
The father quickly turned and rose to his feet looking to one of his daughters. He knew who it was, Ylemmae, the younger of the two by one minute nicknamed Lem. The other, Ylemae, Lemmy, quickly followed her sister's words seeing the anger in her father's face. "It's getting late, we need to get to bed..."
Thankfully, the Mother spoke before Lem had a chance to respond. "Yes, it is late and young girls need their sleep!" she looked fiercely at Lem with a 'don't-say-another-word-about-this' type look before turning back to her husband. "Hun, why not sit back down and I'll make you a drink."
Both girls in unison replied with a simple "Yes Mom" and hurried off to their rooms in the apartment. The father was still clearly upset about what had happened and now even more infuriated that his youngest had seemed to think it was alright that it did happen. They heard before they closed the door to their room the Father speak out: "Ross wants nothing more than to control the entire planet! He's a dictator, and I am sick of working for him!"
"Lem." Hearing the voice Lem quickly snapped up to her feet and looked to the door that had opened. "You look distracted, something the matter?"
She shook her head quickly. "No sir. Just thinking about the past. Nothing important."
"Good. Director Loria wishes to speak with you now." the secretary spoke walking out of the door.
Lem nodded and entered the room. She had been here many times before, the underground facility built under the sewage system of Omni-1. She hated it every time, but understood the need for secrecy. The unofficial official Department of Omni-Pol: Immediate Solution. To anyone else a message from the IS and Loria would seem to be some corporate low-level supervisor within the Department of Internal Services. But to those of the Immediate Solution, they knew otherwise. Their mission was simple: To eliminate any and all threats, whether potential or real, to Omni-Corp without having the company officially involved. Loria handled all affairs and responded only to Ivan Sergeyitch, who in turn only responds to CEO Ross.
The man sat at his desk, nodding to the chair in front of it for her to sit down. Upon doing so, he spoke but one simple word: "Report."
Immediatly Lem began her oral report. "A group of individuals within the Entertainment District of Omni-1 has spoken against Omni-Corp as a whole and publicly agree that the clans might have a right to what they are trying to do. However, they seem to favor CEO Ross as a leader and have said they would never follow Radiman. Even with Radiman's death, I do not believe that they would do anything. Thus, I recommend they be watched and left alone."
Loria folded his hands together placing his elbows up on the desk listening to her. "Continue."
"A man designated as Kokoda, we have his full name and records on-file, is also a dissident against Omni-Corp. I ran into him recently, and upon talking with him for a short while, he was not hessitant to voice his displeasure."
"Is he a threat?"
"Well..." Lem thought about this a moment before shaking her head. "He has said he has no one in the universe. He is all alone and would like to keep it that way."
Loria rubbed his chin silent for a moment in thought before answering. "That means he would not goto the clans but a man with nothing to lose only has everything to gain."
"Yes Sir. I do not think though him possible of terrorist actions, however."
"And what leads you to this conclusion?"
"He seems to be a man who just wants to survive. He does not care about life. He only cares about where his next meal is or what he's going to do in the evening once the day is over."
"What do you recommend then?"
"Nothing. Leave him be."
"Very well." he let out a sigh and then nodded to her. "Anything else?"
"Yes. A Nita Insegeli was planning a strike within Rome Green. I need someone to find the remains of a Nita Insegeli in a place not su****ious, preferrably her own apartment, as at the last moment before she decided to do so she committed suicide cancelling off her death insurance."
"Suicide. How convenient." he said with a smile.
"Normal procedures applied. Manipulation of data within our cloning databases and then the kill."
"Via, which means?"
"A small amount of poison indicted into her drink."
"Poison?" he raised his right eye-brow. "You love the old methods of murder don't you?"
"Murder? Lil ol' me?." she spoke in a very childish manner smiling charmingly at him. Immediately she broke into a small set of giggles as Loria responded with a chuckle or two of his own before responding to her.
"That makes now three suicides within the last two months Lem. I would advise you to try and not to draw any more attention to yourself over the next couple of weeks. Deputy-Director Zhen of the Internal Services is already su****ious of the last one you finished off, and you need to pay more attention to the work there."
"The Internal Services? Such a boring job."
"Boring perhaps, but without it I could not send you messages bearing the IS symbol."
"I understand."
"How old are you now? Fifteen? Sixteen?"
"Fifteen Sir, I turn sixteen soon enough though." she said with an affirmitive nod.
"You grew up too quickly Lem. They may see your absence as childish behavior and tell you to come back when you've matured."
Lem rose to her feet and stood at attention. "Is there anything else Sir?" she asked, not liking where this questioning is going.
"No. You are dismissed."
She sent to him a salute, then walked out of the room quickly and handing over to the Secretary any data files of her progress.
The door shut, and Loria sat at his desk before turning his chair around. A panel in the wall fell loose, as a younger man stood there and walked over to the chair Lem sat in moments ago.
"She is no traitor I assure you." the younger man spoke to Loria.
"I do not know what to think. She is not a traitor, yes, I agree with you. Any person who can do what she did to her family at such a young age would not betray us."
"I have not heard the full details about that Sir."
"Because you do not need to know them. She's one of the best operatives I have, and has an advantage over the others."
"An advantage Sir?"
"Yes, she is young. She can use her youth to get others to speak words they would not normally speak. However..."
"I am telling you Sir. Despite the evidence we found, it was not Lem who hacked into the General Shop of Rome Blue."
"One hundred thousand credits stolen. It is a good thing Deputy-Director Schoel authorized the immediate transfer of credits to the owner in the amount stolen. No news of the theft was publicized so our strength was not weakened. Director Sergeyitch
wants this criminal found, however."
"So he believes your report?"
"It seems to be so for now. Sub-Director Ongenkov, I want you to find out why all our evidence points to Lem. Someone must be impersonating her. For why? How much does that person know? More importantly, of us?"
"I understand Sir. Though if I might speak freely..."
"You may."
"Why not ask her?"
"I like to keep my options open... and if it is indeed Lem, I rather not have her know we are on to her."
"I understand Sir."
"Good. Then I'll you be off to your duty."
