A newbie question on the story -- help appreciated

Hello,

I'm fairly new, been (avidly and far too often) online for 3 days now.

I'm missing one thing -- I havent seen any reference to any of the "story" yet (besides the cool films I downloaded, but I mean in-game). Where can I get in on it? Can we actually influence anything in this game?

(I joined in the hopes of making a char who works his way up and get INFLUENCE in the world and would like try to make an end to the War.)

(Apropos: Is there some form of democratic representation anywhere (can we vote for stuff)?)

well first of all they don't tell u. u have to keep ur ears open for it. Also, every1 wants to effect the storyline in some way. It's hard for that to happen. All i can say to u is u have to be at the right place at the right time. Also u have to be mid lv. (like 50+) to usally effect it in some way big.
