Ok, this post isn't going to be a rant if I can avoid it ;-D
Basically, I just want to state my distaste for the fact that adventurers have once again been pushed behind another class for revamps.
I'll be the first to admit that agents need a patch. MAs need a patch. Many classes need patches. But the question that has to be asked is who needs it the worst? What class is the LEAST functional? At least in my mind, that question is disgustingly obvious: adventurers. Fixers are, I admit, a very close second, but neither of the classes is next in line...
The adventurer class is not good at missions. They are not good at soloing, or grouping. They are exceedingly poor at PvP, and almost equally so at PvM.
Maybe they need more weapon choices (though I plan on using assault rifles... hey, they're only medium blue). More than likely they need nano changes.
Their morphs are utterly useless. I don't mean this in a critical way, and I'm not trying to exaggerate... but they literally are useless, or next to useless.
Their heals are good... a little varied but I can accept that.
Their damage shields are a joke... 91 damage to a level 200+ creature? And 240 energy damage absorption? Thats what, less than 1 hit? Either the damage needs a large increase, the absorption has to change somehow to be more effective, or it needs to be a reflect shield instead of just damage shield. This line is fairly useless.
AC buff/run buff nanos... they're great except for the fact that they stop entirely at random. The runbuff gives us +40 at the first nano, +100 at the second, and then never progresses past about what, 250 skill req? And the AC buff does something very similar, but progresses to around 400-500 skill I believe. There's no obvious reason to me why this is... anyone else?
Lastly, our skill-buff nanos suck. I can accept this. It'd be nice to see some useful skills here so people will actually take PsyMod as a skill, but the fact is EVERY class has 1 or more bad nano lines... I'll accept it, as I, as an adventurer, am definately willing to give up buff lines like this.
I admit, it's a lot to be done. Drastic changes across the board pretty much. But has anyone actually seen the numbers or tested some of these nanos? Has anyone ever seen a poor adventurer unable to solo a 50% mission, or beat a green? If so, I can hope for some compassion here
If you agree that adventurers (and very soon, fixers) need some changes, please post here, and read the "Top 10" wish list for adventurers on their forum. The more support, the better.
We need a fix now... not in a month, not in a year... if we want adventurers to survive this world, we need this patch before anything else. Let the other classes, who are still fairly good and playable, albiet still unbalanced, wait. I think it's high time the poor advent's got a little love from Funcom.
