April 18th, 29191 was the culmination of years of struggle by a brave few who rose up against an oppressive employer to stand for their rights. Many emerged bloodied and bruised. Many perished.April 18, 29191
Omni-Tek signs an agreement with the new Omni-Tek Manual Labourer's Guild, protecting the workers' rights. The groundwork is laid for the rise of the clans.
Since then, many more have paid the ultimate price in the struggle against the oppression of Omni-Tek Corporation. They have fought for their own lives; for the lives of their families; for their home. They have stood in the face of insurmountable odds and emerged stronger; emerged victorious; emerged as Clanners.
In the past, this date was marked by the Council of Truth. In the words of Henry Radiman: "We do...encourage the clans to pick up the banner and observe this important day in our collective history". Last year, the Great Vikings of Rubi-Ka took the initiative to lead celebrations. Details on this historic event can be found here.
This year, we will take a festive approach in honouring the memory of those before us. Events (tentatively scheduled) will be as follows:
- starting at 8:30 p.m. GMT ((4:30 p.m. EDT)), there will be a party at the Happy Rebel in Tir! (DJ'ed by a wonderful member of GSP) This will run until the next event...
- at approximately 10:45 p.m. GMT ((6:45 p.m. EDT)), we will all gather outside of the Happy Rebel, and will march through Tir, ending up back at the Happy Rebel...
- when the second party begins! That's right, party #2 begins at 12 a.m. GMT ((8 p.m. EDT)) back at the Happy Rebel! (DJ'ed by GSP!))
All clanners, neutrals and Omni-Tek employees are invited to help commemorate the past, and to celebrate freedom on Rubi-Ka! Transportation will be provided from ICC for all neutral citizens and Omni-Tek employees wishing to mark this occasion.
This year, an amalgum of valliant and noble Clans will come together to show solidarity and unity, and to honour those who gave their lives in the past to ensure our freedom - from the original Manual Labourers' Guild to the present day. The following Clans have thus far pledged to co-sponsor the day of festivities:
- Assembly
- Bloodguard Coven
- Clan Anarchist Syndicate
- Mercury Dragons
- Rubi-Ka Freedom Fighters
- Unity of the Rose
- Valor Eternal
- Whisper's Edge
This list is growing by the hour. We aim to have as many Clans and organizations show their colours and wave their flags alongside their sisters and brothers. If your Clan or organization isn't on this list, but wishes to show remembrance to those who have fallen for your freedom, please contact Emiliy of Clan Whisper's Edge, via PM or gridmail (link in signature).
