Thread: Another failed event.

    Another failed event.

    /ooc

Well, lastnight there was a mini event that happened in Omni Ent where 20 or so Omni people were put out to extract a Clan Reporter. It was pretty fun for the most part, a little RP, killing some mobs, etc.

After we had reprimanded the suspect, we had to escort her to omni HQ. A certain guild had gone to HQ to make sure that the coast was clear.

Well when we finally got the suspect into HQ, guess what.. She got killed. By a CERTAIN guild that has done this sort of thing in the past. I wont name any names, but....

Why can't GMs stop this sort of thing.. I spent an hour and a half trying to help my fellow omni players find this Clan reporter and get her to HQ only for some yahoo to kill her as soon as she zoned in... It is rediculous how 1 person can ruin others "work".

If these people want to kill clanners, have two GMs port 100 omni and 100 clanners to DAV, say the last one standing (omni/clan) wins. That would be more fitting for the mentality of these people. As it is, we can have no events where a clanner comes into our territory without being killed..

Anywho, this is beyond the omni clan thing, its a personality thing with certain people who dont give a rats ass about any sort of consequences about their actions. They can ruin an entire event for 20, 30, or 50 people without any worries of being punished.

    ok rant off..

    Regards,

Were you doing this mission for Omni-Tek Corporation? If so, and the mission was thwarted by Omni-Tek employees, then they should be punished by Omni-Tek. But we've all seen Omni-Tek justice at work.

And name names, always good for everyone possible to know who the griefers in the game are. I know we all know who they are, they have flaunted the fact that FC is too afraid to lose any more players to punish them. Idiots.

You are correct Scorus, this was a mission that was given to us by Omni-Tek and we were under strict orders NOT to harm her. But, alas the past repeats itself.

Funcom, are you listening? Is this what you WANT your events and storyline to be like? Are you WANTING your game to only contain teen-age griefers whose role-playing abilities peaked while playing Doom?

If not, then do something about it! Impose strict in-game penalties on those individuals and clans that seriously violate in-game rules. You had your chance with Aberic and company and I hope you have seen the consequences of your inaction. He and his clan(s) are just rubbing your faces in it, now, laughing at your inability to police your own game. Laughing at your fear of losing one more player. It is time for you to choose whether you want AO to consist of role-players or unfettered griefers!

Any chance you will respond to your players' concerns here? I didn't think so. Cowards!

Whats silly is they will ban someones account for having a porn stars name who does no one any harm, but when someone actually affects the outcome of an event in a negative way they do nothing.

Same guild had to play big tough guy in Rome park last night.

We tried to RP with them, they made it perfectly clear that they were above socializing or RPing with people below their lvl.

    *sigh*

When does people realize that your Char lvl doesn't give you the right to be an idiot and feel better than everyone else.

Basic psychology shows this as a textbook case of minority complex.

I keep having this picture, pop up in my head, of a guy from my school who kept picking on the little kids. Today he's the local drunk. He hangs out at the bar picking on the little kids.

    Some people never grow up.

But yeah i agree Arterous. There should be punishments for actions that go against the given orders.

for instance. People who keep killing GMs and People of their own alignment should be fired/excluded from their own ranks and condemned to eternal neutrality. That way they wont kill anyone again.

Same goes for Gridcampers and PvP grace exploiters. Take a away their ability to start a fight altogether. That should keep them from griefkilling.

When Funcom makes it true. At the moment it does give them that right. Only Funcom can take it away and they don't have the spine to stand up to griefers.

Wink Guild interests in controling its members

I have to say that the guild I belong to recently voted out a member for treating a lower lvl character who was not part of our guild in a childish way.
Unfortunately the person they chose to insult and generally annoy was one of the guilds founding members new alts.

As any behaviour of a guild member reflects directly upon the guild action had to be taken. Of course when you have an entire guild of griefers then FC should step in and take action.

I'm not saying "they" are an entire guild of grievers, I happen to like many of them, but when 3 events have had the name plastered on it due to some jackoff doing stupid stuff.... Well... you get the point.

    Post How Convenient

Omni using a weak pretext to excuse themselves from the murder of a defenseless journalist. Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm sure that you were ALL given orders not to harm her just as I'm sure that your supervisors were using you as pawns for their disgusting games. It would not be the first time that OT played games with their loyal employees. So why continue to be a pawn in someone elses game? Claim your freedom! Join the clans.

I wish I could do this in character but, your not allowed to cuss.
I made a few shouts to the effect of send a warrant out for the leader of "the" guild in mention and things of the extent. But its just sad that these people screw events like this up.

Unfortunately, the prison system is no longer an envisioned addition to the game. As such, there is currently no in-game punishment for this type of behavior.

It would be nice if a GM could simply change the offenders alignment to show that they have been fired by Omni-Tek.

It really doesn't make sense that there are no in-game repercussions for Omni employees who disobey orders.

    Talking

The event didn't fail. Omni-Tek failed.

I was mounting a rescue mission for the reporter when you idiots ganked her. That played right into our hands. She had scanned in Tir, so myself and Windie escorted her safely to Avalon where her offices have been relocated to.

You COULD have had her for interrogation purposes, but no... you end up giving her straight back to us.

Your rash actions ensured that we rebels were vicorious.

    You stupid Omni.

ROFL! Thanks for pointing that out, Snarf... Maybe FunCom's putting in contingency plans for events if something like this happens. Stupid Omni .

Well I was hoping that this wouldn't become a clan omni thing.. Its simply a stupid idiot person behind the PC thing. I tried to enjoy my time RPing last night with this, only 1 hour into it, some ganker killed an hour worth of work. And killed the entire event.

Point being is that a certain guild has had three of these incidents in the past.. How many are they going to Effe up in the future????

All of them if FC allows them to. I'd be happy to hear any alternatives to that bleak forecast but I can't envision any.

And I think this should be both a clan/omni and an omni/omni thing. This guy's actions allowed the clans to be victorious in this exercise, he willfilly and intentionally sabotaged the Omni-Tek's Corporations goals. They should now realize that they are better off without him (and any co-conspirators) and fire them. They won't.

And, on the other hand, maybe the side with the smarter players should win. Clans have griefers also, don't get me wrong, but our griefers at least save their grief for OT'ers. Time for clanners to start recruiting more Omni players for DC and their affiliate(s)...

At the very least one would expect Omni-Pol or Omni InternOps to be interrogating these individuals.

FunCom will never do anything to this player or this guild. They won't even have a fake trial this time. This is why the story on Rubi-ka sucks and always will suck. Thats exactly why I don't play waiting for a story.
