Thread: Mother MOBs Spawning

    Lightbulb Mother MOBs Spawning

Since patch 13.6 (and continued with 13.7), I have witnessened High lvl MoBs spawning in places they have nothing to do with, level-wise.

Three times, My team has been aggroed by a CHAOS MINION while hunting at NW mine near Harry's. Luckily there were several teams around and the Minions were beaten back each time.
Just for information, the loot on one of those was QL111 (the weakest one), where as the usual LifeBleeder loot is between QLs 75 and 85...

At the 2OK west clan camp, a MoB called [Edit]MASKED [/Edit] COMMANDO appeared right on us and wiped clean our full team (lvls 55 to 70) in a matter of seconds, then it downed 2 lvls 100 which were "escorting" us !
It actually came up to the 20K city entrance and started shooting everyone there (back to reclaim for me) and only the comined effort to all those present + the city guards helped kill that Mob

    My questions are :
    1) Have any of you witnessed similar happenings?

    2) Is this "feature" (mentionned in recent articles on soloing) part of the new patches???

Isn't this little insecurity feeling that you have now, warm ?

    Talking Insecurity

Well... now that you mention it, YES
And in fact it's quite pleasant, so long as there are enough mates along to roast the MoB !

My point is that I encountered thoses NEW spawns right after the patches and wondered if it could be linked to the first SOLOing article...

Gummizluv, have -you- met such spawns?

    Question Story line

Then again, maybe these new spawns are storyline related?

    Has anyone got a clue?

/me can't wait to find some more randomly_spawing_huge_Mobs

It did seem to happen only when some 3 teams were around, happily harvesting XP

Not yet. My Crat twink is grinding XPs in zones that I know very well, but where everything is ranging to bright red to deep red. I didn't really noticed any MOB "that doesn't belong".

was the commando one of the 'masked commandos' of the dust brigade?
these are GM controlled characters who have been attacking all over the place.

damn that's a fun job those guys have . . lol.

Can't remember precisely but it wasn't "masked" commando.
[Edit] After checking some screenshots, I have to admit, MASKED COMMANDO is the right name [/Edit]
What I do recall is that upon sending me for the second time at reclaim in less than 2 minutes, my log read the following (or close):
Masked Commando received 302 points of cold damage
    Attacked by Masked Commando
    Attacking Masked Commando
Your remains will be made available in 60 seconds

there was NO indication of the amount of damage inflicted to me...

Ive seen clan and masked commando's and yes they are part of the story line as far i know. So that mob showing up was a event happening. I fought commando's in 20k, trade, omni-e hq.

As for the chaos minion, maybe the LB got tired of dying and called in a big brother

actually no idea why the chaos was there.

    Cool Thx

Thx for the insight concerning those Commandos.
Just thinking they could (re)spawn around at anytime was kind of */me shivers* frightening

As for the Chaos Minions, i'll just add that the first encounter happened directly at the cave where the teams form up.
One full day later, the second Chaos Minion appeared and that was just by the mine entrance, while the third seemed more like a respawn due to some looney hunter looting the MoB... he died for his foolishness/greediness

Not true, probably, but I went to hunt in Lush fields (south, near the small bio cave) often with other chars around level 35 - 45. Never had a problem, even with a small group it was managable quite easily. I went back there yesterday with a new char (lvl 39) in a team that was hitting nicely only to discover that there were 3 Life Bleeders camping the spot. First 2 pulls went ok, after those someone went to close and....reclaim for most of us.

Question: Have there always been Life Bleeders around there? I know they are quite common in North Lush, levelwise they belong there, but I never saw one in Lush South (where the mobs are around lvl 40 - 45 (I guess)). I had a feeling they were actually protecting the bio cave (which used t be a swell place for exp and mob-parts).

Anyone notice? or am I phr34kin' out??

    Lightbulb Bio Cave

If that's the cave situated a long way south of the OouPost, then I never saw any LB down there when I used to hunt it, nevermind 3 !!

You could exterminate the bios for hours at a time and not be bothered by other critters. Maybe this has changed now... it does kindda sound like the chaos minions up at NW mine. If so it could well be a general -and very welcome- change

/me is eager to hunt some more, knowing death can spawn anywhere

Yes I ran into a Manteze in Varmint Woods. I thought it was odd since I've never seen them anywhere in North Rubi-Ka, only in places like Galway.

Mantese have been in VW for quite a while, though they only hang out in one corner of that playfield.

I've seen manteze in lots of places... 4 holes, galway, VW, Pleasant Meadows, and (either clon**** or andromeda, can't recall)

What kills me is that they killed me in a 100% gas zone. Curse the GMs. The tried to bash on my slayer too but it was frivilous.. Too bad they are immortal. (some are anyway.. We had 50+ people bashing on one; NTs, Engies, et cetra, in BS and it's health went to 0% and popped to 100% every other seond..)

Life Bleeders have always been at the NW mine in Lush Fields, though it can be awhile before they spawn.

I noticed an 'out of place' mob in NW mine in Lush as well. It wasn't a Chaos Minion, it was a Fearplanter. Same type of mob as the Lifebleeders, just a few clicks harder. I instantly thought back to Gaute's article about 'mother' mobs randomly spawning in odd areas... While the Fearplanter wasn't a huge threat, Chaos Minions can be to a team of lvl 45's, especially 3 Minions. If this was in fact implemented, and is supposed to be happening, I'd just love to hear an official response, instead of players posting here wondering what is going on in this game we pay for.

    Thumbs up 'Mother MoBs'

According to your various statements, I'd be tempted to say that the improvement hinted at in Gaute's article IS implemented but not disclosed so as to keep some surprise effect

    Just imagine of this :
Your team is kicking a$$ hunting around all the mobs in the area. You're doing so well that XP comes in without a sweat even when that Auto_aggro_Mob spawns on you once in a while, instead of fleeing, you stand fast and bring it down in no time !
All of a sudden, that Auto_aggro_Mob spawns once again, only this time, it's a bigger, meaner and angrier version that's coming on you ! Now you're not feeling so uber because that thing is deep red instead of orange and because two of your mates are already down... you can run for it, or you can give all you have trying to bring it down
Now THAT would put some ****e in hunting sprees !

    Can't wait to experiment that.

    NW Lush

When you get into the 60s [and your not an MP or Enforcer], bleeders are of little consequence. But by then your starting to plan your trips to Pleasant Meadows. Below level 60 -

Life Bleeders are still a potent force, if your team is ill-prepared or not too bright or not paying attention, 1 Bleeder can wipe out a full team of 6. The typical senario is the fairly competent team is battling a Mob with an add or 2, and do not realize the Bleeder spawned and is drifting in their direction. It aggros a team mate but in the chat spam of battle they dont realize whats happened until you see hear that awful sound a bleeder makes when it attacks. I shudder to think of what a Chaos Minion would do!!

When my Level 60 'Crat Avatarien is working NW, just presume the Life Bleeder works for me. [Bunch of Noobs taunted me for doing charming the Bleeder, you can imagine their not so kind words], but I commented to my teammates that they probably would have liked the 30k+ experience in 2 mins I racked up for the team with my charmed ally at my side.

I think the LB is an appropriate "boss" for NW, not sure I'd want to see anything stronger pop up? If a fear planter is just a few levels stronger, that might be "ok" if its rare, but a Minion would be almost an event level.

I've been hoping to see one of those new "Duster Dropships" pay a visit to NW Lush one of these days...
