Harassment of any type is in the eyes of the beholder. I've seen roleplayers play out things that I wouldn't touch with a 10 ft. pole. I've seen different nationalities blast each other's countries. Yeah, its real enough alright if you're on the receiving end.

I'm not saying that this thread is getting blown out of proportion, what I am saying is that it really depends on the individual whether they see it as harassment or not. You can't say there is no sexual harassment, physically? Of course there isn't. But sexism, or bias against someone because of their gender is quite real in every facet of almost any society.

Sexual harassment can be as little as, "Hey baby, dance for me" to someone saying *hug*. Again, the individual receiving the harassment...is the one to judge how THEY felt at the moment it was happening. You can't just stereotype one way or the other.

There are women who sexually harass men as well. And I'm sure that Hypnotia is aware of that. And that she wouldn't like to see it happening to the men that are receiving it. But wait, men aren't supposed to admit that they don't like it...or are they?

LOL seems a touchy subject.

As a RL female gamer who always play female charactors, I have to say that I really cant ever remember being harassed in any way by male toons. However, I think this is partly because of the way I conduct myself ingame, which is not that different from the way I do in RL. For example, I never don skimpy outfits and stand in Athens square with a bottle in my hand. I wouldnt do that downtown in my my RL home... why would I do it in Athens? My roleplay is affected greatly by my RL personality, but that is MY preference. Many people like to roleplay something totally , drastically different from what they really are...that is the magically addicting thing about roleplay.

In my former guild (predominantly male) I was promoted to Unit Commander and Major, due to my involvement in the guild and my capabilities as a player. the males in the guild treated me with utmost respect, aside from playful flirting , never once did I get any tells or see any actions that I would deem vulger or demeaning to my sex.


As for all male guilds or "fraternities" ...why not? sounds like a fun idea.

I have considered joining all female guilds but it would have to be one where the code of conduct would respect males and one that nurtured our capabiliies as warriors , and leaders .

I had one guy ask me to lap dance for him. I said no and that was that. Even the jerks don't tend to harrass you because you have this nifty little option that one doesn't have in real life. It's called /ignore.

Harrassment in this game generally takes the form of trying to get someone killed over and over and over again. Sexual harrassment is kind of hard to do when your target can just put you on ignore. I'm not saying that it couldn't happen, I'm just saying that someone would have to be REALLY determined to pull it off.

Besides there's so many guys playing women in this game and running around in skimpy outfits that it provides the jerks enough eye candy to satisfy them. And I think they're the ones doing all the lap dances as well.

You did make a mistake when you mentioned dominatrix. Like it or not dear, the word is associated with kinky sex, NOT just assertive women.

There's nothing wrong at all with having an all female guild (although as I told someone who tried to recruit one of my characters to one, I think it would be a little boring).

But you can't expect us to take you seriously when you associate your guild with something usually found in a porno movie.

Why not refer to yourself as amazons rather than dominatrixes? The amazons were an all female tribe that were fierce warriors.

Yes, the whole thing is assosiated with sex through so many things. In reality the whole BDSM thing is about power exchange. Dominating women, dominatrixes, are GIVEN the power by submissive men. It is not about girl power, femal pride or anything like that - it's about being dominative and using the power you are given by someone else right. No sex needs to be involved and it really is not about showing females are better than men or teaching them any lessons.

I agree with Laeni in that Amazons would be a lot better name to use.

You know, I was almost drawn with the whole equality talk that Hypnotia first started with when starting this thread. Then, I read her last post. It doesn't sound like she wants equality of the sexes...at least not to me. Shs sounds like she's been mistreated and abused by men quite a lot. And she sounds horribly bitter to me.

I'm not disrespectful of any human or even animal...(Leets are Toons TOO!) But, geez...Hypnotia seems to be bent on man-hating, not equalization of the genders. It really bothers me to see what I'm seeing (and hopefully WRONGLY assuming) with Hypnotia and her posts. No one should have THAT much...disgust with anyone else (evilness excluded in that sweeping generality).


Well, I think I'll shush-up, I was about to get even MORE preachy.


(I'm not a psychologist or anything like that, I'm just an observer of human nature...and lately human nature is scaring the crap out of me.)
