I am giving Funcom a week to do one of two things:

1. Comes on this thread and states that she was banned for a real reason.

2. Un-bans nikki's account.

The date now is 2-9-02. By 2-14-02 if there is still no response from funcom i am CANCELLING my account and encourage others to do the same. Post your support.

Maybe you should go back and read the thread before commenting :OP I said I had gotten my account back because I changed the names.

That doesn't mean the game is the same for me. It's hard as heck to come back from an unwanted name change. You have to explain the situation to everyone, your /tell rate drops to nothing, you have to rebuild the reputation of your character withen the community, and every other hassle related to a name change.

I know it seems trivial, but it's alot of crap I have to deal with on a rule that I and many others think was stretched too far. Heck under their naming policy you would have to change also. I mean heck about half of the population of Rubi-Ka would have to change their names if they where HELD to the SAME standards as I was. If not a whole lot more. Any name that could be in any way linked to anything sexual, was not allowed. No matter how trivial, I was not allowed to have the name. I was refused the name "BackEnd" for my fixer. Something that I used to refer to the shadier side of the fixers business. Of course, these rules only apply to me it seems.

No biggie, War Craft III is a really solid game. Everything I thought it would be as a fan of Simulation games. So, I likely won't be back playing AO without them giving my names back. I'll prolly just end up like CaptFallout and just turn to flaming everything Funcom does. Sorry won't totally be the Capt. I'll take it easy on all of you :OP

There are TONS of foul names already out there. In fact, my guess is that Funcom has a few themselves.

Check out this name (and no I'm not going to type it here except for the pasting of the URL):

Notice the Faction? Three weeks ago that faction said "Monster." What does that mean? Well, last time I checked, when you made a character, there was no 4th door for "Monster" (only Neutral, Omni and Clan). I think that this monster is someone's idea of a joke in funcom. (As a slightly humorous note, probably in bad taste, I think that the monster with that name would be pretty scary.)

I'm not going to point out people with foul names (although as Lozer pointed out a 2 minute search provided me with about 10 different offensive names) because I don't want to be responsible for someone being banned. However, Funcom shouldn't get away with it either.

Oh, and I had no idea who Nikkidial was... still, even now that I know I don't find it offensive at all. However, the name on the link above is ENTIRELY offensive in my opinion.

Actually there is NO 5th door that produces the faction of "N/A." You either have to be Nuetral, Clan, or Omni. So this is most likely an employee as you suggested.

Hmmmm, it's funny how Funcom states that all rules will be applied evenly and fairly, after the illuvatar Dimension switch fiasco. Yet, I am being judged harsher then their own employees are judged. To me a company should hold it's employees to the highest standards, but Funcom I guess has it's own ideas on how to run a business I guess.

Wow, this sounds like Verant or Verant Jr. (Mythic Entertainment). I can't believe Funcom would do something so dumb. Add my name to the ever-growing list of those who think this is ignorant, stupid, and should immediately be reversed WITH AN APOLOGY!!!

BTW you're not really Nikki Dial are you?

Sorry, but this is funny... They banned you because your name is "nikkidial"... lol i cant believe this... i just wrote an 3-side article regarding economy and then i read they banned you because of your name. Guess it was a totally waste of time to write it when their mainaim is banning for names like "nikkidial".

It *IS* dumb to have been banned for that. I have found longshot generally to be a little bit ..... behind.... the standard solitus at times.

BUT. If you are going to make people rename, rename EVERYONE with a dumb number in their name, and also people with names as the ones Lozer listed etc also.

That is an absurd reason to censor... add my name to the list o' protest. I assume that it was in response to some nut complaining about the names... that person needs to get a bloody life. Even if these names had to be changed, there are thousands of names thatn eed to be changed before this one could even be considered...

The only other possibility is FC benig afraid of being sued by these people for allowing their names in video games... but that seems like anoter asinine fear...

My point of view :

1) Use other names like Beatricevalle or Brigittelahaie.

2) Make a pet class and have control other it (then Dildo could attack again).

My pet is often called Xavière Tibéri. As a Crat this is a must.
