Clicksaver 3.0.0 On LINUX
Ok so I know there was a thread last year on how to get Click Saver 2.4.2 running on Linux. However many of the links and methods in that thread have since died. So today I provide to the Tux Gamers out there a revised method to get ClickSaver running on your linux box. Here we go.
First you will need to download the following items:
-Click Saver 3.0.0
-Winetricks ( We will go in detail on how to install that in the next section.)
-msvcp60.dll
Winetricks : is a quick and dirty script to download and install various re-distributable runtime libraries sometimes needed to run programs in Wine. Here is how to get it because the link in the old thread is unfortunately no longer working.
Open up a console and enter this command followed by the return key.
Code:
wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks
The output should look something like this :
Code:
--2009-11-21 12:08:45-- http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks
Resolving www.kegel.com... 216.92.86.126

Congratulations! You now have Winetricks installed on your system.
Now that we have Winetricks on our system now we need to grab the VB 6.0 run time files from it. There are two ways of doing this.
Option 1.
Open a console window and use the following command:
Code:
sh winetricks corefonts vb6run
Option 2.
Open a console window and use the following command:
The result of option 2 should be a GUI version of Option 1. Just scroll down until you see VB6RUN and check mark it. Close the window and it will begin downloading and installing for you.
Congratulations! You now have VB6 Run files on your system.
Now that we have our VB6 Run files in place go ahead and unzip your ClickSaver.zip file into your
"NAME@USERNAME:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files$" directory.
Now that we have it unzipped we will need to place our "msvcp60.dll" file that we downloaded earlier in its home. To do so simply extract the .zip file to any location and drag and drop the "msvcp60.dll" into your "/home/username/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/" directory.
Now that we have all of this completed click saver is ready to use.
Known Issues:
-"Set Sliders" function is currently unavailable.
-Will only function in full screen mode.
-Launcher posted in earlier thread no longer functions. Instead a script with a chmod will work unless you do not mind navigating to your ClickSaver directory each time to load the program.
Initial credit goes to Surfs
I am just keeping the method alive and up to date.
Thanks for reading and I hope you are able to get Click Saver working
I am running Ubuntu Karmic. And have had no problems thus far.
