best character????

Hi

I have beeen trying some different characters now, but non of them seems to do it for me.
I have only reached lvl7 with my soldiers, but he acts like a whimp. Is it because of the low lvl??
Shuld i stick with the soldier or try a different?? And if, what should it be??
My main gaming xp is from fps..

Is the agent any good?? Also tried adventurer but he sucked.

Please give som advice...
