OTPC Freelance - Omni-Tek employees are finding themselves the recipients of brutal attacks in Newland, leading to possible legal action being taken against the city.

Newland often describes itself as a “safe-haven” from the troubles of Rubi-Ka, a place where all are welcome as long as they follow the laws of the small city. OTPC has learnt that in the past few days a number of very serious incidents involving attacks on Omni-Tek employees have put this into question. Several reports have indicated that the Newland guard themselves have attacked numerous Omni-Tek employees for no more than simply being present within the city.

Whilst unconfirmed, we at OTPC have possession of reports that Omni-Tek has issued a warning to the Newland City Council advising them to increase their security and to do more to protect Omni-Tek employees or they could face legal action, including the implementation of trading sanctions which would cripple the small cities already struggling economy.

With this in mind Omni-Tek has issued an advisory for employees to remain within Omni-Tek controlled territories, stating that since the implementation of the Omni-AF Riot Specialists as the new governing police force that crimes are at an all-time low; and that cities such as Newland are not equipped to offer the sorts of protection Omni-Tek employees have come to expect and deserve.

What? Hekkat shot someone for causing trouble in Newland. That's sort of how the system works.

It is disheartening to hear such a report as Newland has benefited greatly from it's good relations with the Corporation. Although the city's militia is clearly a poor substitute of Omni-AF and the Riot Specialists, there should still be proper discipline and regulation. If proven who committed this crime, I hope the Newland government will act swiftly to punish them in order to reaffirm the city's neutral status and to dispense justice where it is needed.

So this employee was shot for no reason, or was no reason given by the Omni media?
The devil is in the details.

From this bulletin it shows that the Newland Guard attacked the Omni-Tek employees with no reason other than being present in the city.

This is an outrage, i hope a full investigation is launched and the perpetrators are dealt with appropiately. We should have them extradited and have them held accountable in a court of Omni-Tek law!

Except that its all made up in your head and has no place in the really real world.

From the reports I have gotten, there was just one Omni employee attacked, and that was after they had assaulted some other individual in the city. Sounds like the Newland City Guard working as intended.

So when omni guards shoot at every single Clan person in Borealis just after the dish got placed thats how its supposed to be but a single omnitek official getting shot at is an outrage. You omnis are hypocrits

I found myself under attack last night by 2 Clan assailants whilst within Newland. I recieved no help from the Newland Guard during or after the assault. Thankfully, due to my experience and advanced training i was able to fend them off. Not all employees are as capabable as me.

I expect the situation to be looked into and resolved. Omni-Tek has always aided Newland in the past, we at least expect to be safe from assualt when within their city.

Maybe you shouldn't have said that all neutrals were criminals and in need of being shot. Maybe, just maybe you reap what you sow. Maybe, even maybe you should take some personal responsibility for what happened and the reputation you created for yourself. You have no friends.

OK, I am thinking a short word might be in order here.

To date every report received by my guards has been responded to and investigated.

I have received no reports of attacks as alleged by Miss Geers.

In fact the only report of an Omni recently being shot by a Newland guard was the sod shot by me. And I filed that report myself. The culprit in question had been identified by multiple other people at the scene and the victim as well, for having been involved in the attack on said individual who was still sitting on the ground at my feet. The culprit was removed from Newland via Reclaim.

Other persons who appeared to be potentially at risk, or of drawing further attacks into the City of Newland were escorted from the city. By me.

I requested witness accounts of those present. I fully expected to receive some protest over the earlier removal of an Omni by reclaim. To date I have received nothing from Omni-Tek in any form, and only one witness report.

As has always been the case within Newland. I will not tolerate trouble makers. Neutral, Clan or Omni -- you are all subject to removal or arrest if you decide to cause trouble in this city. And yes, removal may very well be via reclaim. Nothing new in that.
