The Neutral Defensive Initiative (NDI)

Greetings neutral citizen's of Rubi-Ka, here is my speech to all of you
For centuries the conflict between The Clans and Omni-Tek has raged, and for centuries we the Neutrals of Rubi-Ka have existed trying to live in peace and not be involved in this futile war; however, on the 30th of May our way of life was violated by the aggressive actions of Omni-Tek. Omni-Tek’s blatant disregard to our rights as neutral citizens have shown us now is the time for us to stand together and become a true faction of Rubi-Ka. A “Neutral Faction” one that neither Omni-Tek nor The Clans can no longer take away our rights to live in peace, so we may not be forced into their war.
With the occupation of Borealis a large outcry was heard in the streets filled with the voices, and unfortunately the blood, staining the once beautiful streets of Borealis, of those that resisted the occupation. There have been protesters, some out in the streets protesting against the occupation with signs and banners with peaceful means, and others using lethal means. Now is not the time for violent action against Omni-Tek. Now is the time for diplomacy, which is our best weapon in this situation. Through clever thinking we can achieve anything, and for now is the only way for us to win Borealis back, making it a true neutral city once again.
We could use lethal means if we wanted too, but then were and what would we be, yet another faction, fighting Omni-Tek, in an already centuries long war? The Clans have offered us military support should we attempt to take back Borealis by force, but violence begets violence. Even if we were successful, and with the Clans help, raged war to get Borealis back, were would that leave us? We still wouldn’t have guards protecting the streets, leaving them a defenseless as an unguarded highway filled with bandits and other forms of dangers, along with the threat of Omni still wanting to fight for the city. And if we were to take The Clans help, that would only put us on their side of war, on many if not everyone’s eyes. Even without any outside help fighting Omni-Tek in an all out battle can never be an option. Our reasons for being Neutral are to say out of the war, not to start another one.
Violence never solved anything but clever thinking and logical ways of solving a problem has happened. Many neutral organizations promote and even help others.
For it was the neutral’s that hired the guards of Newland City thus evicting Loren Warr and the mercenaries from Newland. Neutrals in the past have been able to band together and make changes to better our way of life.
Rubi-Ka is a world constantly changing, and I believe there should be changes. Like all changes in Rubi-Ka this one is the first in the coming. Now with the occupation of Borealis our neutrality has been ultimately challenged by both factions. Newland city has guards that were bought and paid for by the citizens that were neutral yes we may have had help from other sources as well. But now we enter an age were there are no sources to help us defend what is truly our neutrality.
Thus I suggest an alliance of all neutral organizations, starting with “The Neutral Defensive Initiative”.
This would help to serve our entire purpose in 3 ways.
1. Since we obviously do not wish to involve ourselves in conflict we rely on diplomacy this is what we will be using to convince Omni-Tek to remove their military presence from Borealis permanently and re-open commerce and free travel amongst all sides.
2. Our rights as neutrals are challenged by the fact that we are told we lack proper security. This alliance would be created to solve the problem of a lack of proper security. The creation of better-trained and better-equipped guards then the other factions could solve this problem not just for the security of potential problems certain factions claim we have but preventing problems such as terrorists/criminals/alien menace and even hostile invasions or occupation.
3. Our third purpose is scientific advances as well as research into new realms of science to advance our society we must be ahead of other factions and their own research this is costly thus our alliances must work together to achieve such a dream.
It is time to take a stand now our futures have been called into question Omni-Tek deals with everything whether it’s military or science to advance their own motives. It is time for us to band together to help further our cause as neutrals and make it clear to all factions that we are our own side.
