Lost item due to Borealis crash. Any hope?

I was transferring a Notucomm from my alt to my main. I put the coat in the trade window, hit accept on one toon and I was switching over to accept on the other toon, Borealis crashed. When I logged back in, the coat was no where to be found.

I put in a petition on both accounts, but I don't think there is much hope in seeing my coat again. Namely because I still had another petition still open from when the game ate my ql200 Expensive Jones Vest during a twinking session. I sent an email to support as well, but other threads in this forum make me think I'm swimming up the creek with no paddle on this one.

I guess I'm just venting at this point, but also a heads up to maybe not transfer stuff or do anything of importance with items of value in cities known for crashing right now, mostly Borealis.

Zone both chars out and back into the zone they were in.
That always fixed those issues over the last 12 years I've experienced them.

I've had a few items lost to ghosting. I don't know what that is, but basically there is some kind of digital trace but the item isn't in the inventory/bank/trade/ etc. but it's supposed to be.

I have one char which it has happened to more than any of the others, probably because it gets traded by far more than any of the others (a froob holding account).

The ghosts I've had are:

* a pair of 150 treatment pistols in 2012ish (not recovered)
* a new pair of 150 treatment pistols in 2014ish (recovered)
* a set of 5x strength/stam QL 250 NCU's (recovered)
* same set of strength/stam NCU's (not recovered)

Damn. I see I lose the stuff that is really valuable to me. That makes me sad.

Yeah the zone crashes in tara were also really bad the other day.. Ended up losing around 3k pvp score.. no fun
