IRRK - Newland City - After a long discussion and many explanations the Foreign Affairs Document was ratified as is during the last council session.


Some time ago we reported about the Newland City Foreign Affairs Document and that it was open for discussion and criticism (See here).

Today the Mayor's office informed us that it was ratified during the last Newland City Council session on the first May weekend. In his short message the Mayor let us know that while the vote had already happened his office decided to wait with the official statement should other major concerns be voiced shortly afterward.

It would seem that no grave errors have been found and that no concerns that would invalidate the document were voiced.

Interesting times for Newland and we here at IRRK wish the city and its citizens all the best.

I spoke there about several errors that the LPA had found.
I'll better post my statement here:

The Newland City Council has published a document called the Foreign Affairs document. The Leet Protection Agency has reviewed this document and found some serious issues.

It includes high profile persons, however it fails to mention that the City of Newlands highest profile resident is not a person. It's a leet called Brb.
If he has to go to the doctor, should he not have the same rights to an escort as any other residents of Newland city?

Therefore, we would like the "high profile persons" replaced with "high profile persons and leets".

The documentation also deals with import and export in the area and we quote:

"Parties importing and exporting goods in Newland City must receive clearance and documentation from the Newland City Ministry of Trade."

Brb doesn't have the opportunity to get around much and must have his food taken to him. This is something that members of LPA have done for a long time due to the fact that his owner appears to be frequently unable to find her leet dispite many members of our community telling her of his exact location. If the LPA requires clearance and documentation from the Newland City Ministry of Trade every time Brb is hungry he will starve to death in a matter of days.

The LPA request a paragraph to be added to the document stating that Leetfood is exempt from this ruling.

We would like to draw your attention to point 3F in the document that talks about torture or cruel, inhuman treatment or degrading punishment. Again the document uses the word person. The LPA strongly recommends that Leets are included in this, especially due to the fact that so many barbaric inhumane leet fights are held in this area so regularly.

We hope that the Newland City Council can correct this so that all residents of Newland city have the same rights.

I swear Rubi-Ka is more bonkers since i came back than it was before i left.

This document is intended for people, be they Atrox, Solitus, Opifex or Nanomage, not animals. I for one would not like to see any of the ammendments made which the LPA wishes to see implemented to an already ratified legal document.

Why the LPA doesnt try writing their own document for the protection and welfare of animals (yes including ro..leets.) i do not know. Then they could for all governing bodies on Rubi-Ka to ratify it? Not that they would. Since Omni-Tek considers wild leets to be pests.

For someoe who claims to be neutral you are pretty faction orinetated.
this is not about Omni, Neutral or Clan. It's about whats right and wrong.
Since when did Brb become a "wild leet"?
this is about the rights of citizens of newland, including Brb. Don't make it into a faction war

How am i making it into a faction war? I' merely stating a fact that Omni-Tek considers wild leets to be a pest. The evidence is in everybackyward that has a billboard, if you dont like it take it up with them.
Brb is a pet. Not a citizen of Newland however you might wish it.

High Profile status is for those that do not live in Newland. Brb is a resident of Newland and does not fall under the Foreign Affairs document.
However if you have such concern for Brb the I suggest you have a talk with his owner Mary-Ann about the treatment of her pet and leaving him there by himself in the city.

While your concerns have been noted during the council session it was explained to you that leets are animals and not people and thus they are not included in a document regarding foreign affairs.
As I stated during the discussion we had Newland has strict rules against animal cruelty in all of its forms thus they should be relatively safe.

Yeah. I know that the city council was thinking about people when they made the document. I am simply pointing out that everyone in newland should have the same rights, including Brb.

Brb is a leet and a pet and will be treated with due respect. If it's harmed, the responsible will be dealt with proper force (with a fine).

But go ahead and defend it, maybe its owner should have concerns too ?

As far as I'm aware the owner of Brb lives not far from Newland, just a short walk away. But the problem remains that she claims she's lost her pet leet, but even after people help replace the ID chip on the little thing she still hasn't made that short trip to pick Brb up, and the ID chip keeps breaking.

I think the LPA should be making some visits to her instead. *chuckles*

Well. I dont know who was at the last illigal leetfight that I know of in newland.
I was there to try to stop it.
i didn't get much support, infact when i tried to stop the fight, people started to throw bottles at me.
I talked to several Officials in newland but there was not much support to get there ether.
Infact i was told at one point that leetfight was legal!
Now do i trust the safety of Brb to this gang?
Not at all. I am conserned of his safety.
I want the same rights for all citizens of newland. Is that so hard to undrstand?

Firstly its Third Faction.
Secondly we are not a gang, but a para-military organisation, get it right.
Animals and pets are not the same as citizens. the citizens have rights already, and as stated by Mayor Toog, Newland now has strict rules against animal cruelty.
At the time of that leet fight i believe there was no rules against it, so it was not illegal there was no reason for officals to step in, apprehend or stop the fights.
If you have a problem with how Brb is kept either take it up with the owner or continue to look after it. To continue babbling on so about its rights as a citizen is nonsense and contradictory coming from an employee of a corporation which actively encourages people to kill leets.
Whilst your fussing around in Newland with Brb, thousands of leets are being culled due to corporate policy. Get your priorities right, or shutup tow the corporate line.

there is not a single poster or message about leets being a thret on any wall or bilboard.
the ones who is still there is in abandond places like neutral backyards and the subway. There is not a single one in any Omni-tek controlled city. Atleast i have never seen one.
Now if it was still a big issue there would atleast be a note somewhere, wouldent it?
Now i am sure that if updated information from the corporation is a consern among the neutrals, we could send a few employees to newland to hang up posters with updated information from Omni-tek

Get your facts right first could help. Newland doesnt need Omni-Tek employee's to come and hang posters explaining what the corporation is up to. If we want to find out we will just go and have a look in your cities holo worlds.

I for one am rather pleased to see this progress being made by Newland, I only wish we could have managed the same for Borealis. I've seen enough people denied common sense rights in war AND in peacetime to be rather cynical of anyone who can't put their money where their mouths are when it comes to sticking up for your own people.

Hello to you Sir,

I am in perfect agreement with you that Borealis has not been the same in many years. It is not an issue of dislike or a lack of appreciation for the individual soldiers employed by Omni-Tek that currently do as they are ordered within the city gates. They seem to be doing the job in an exemplary fashion but perhaps their resources would be better used elsewhere.

My understanding is that Unicorn and Omni Tek were concerned over the ability of ICC to protect the city and the nearby station within it's borders. ICC's personnel has recently experienced a considerable upgrade to their equipment resources; I suggest that times have changed and Borealis is woefully behind.

Nothing is due to change if good people stand by idle. A small group began the change in Newland and all it takes is one person sometimes to turn the tide. I for one am willing to put, as you say.. my credits where my mouth is.

I'd be most interested in speaking to you sir, please do look me up at your earliest convenience.

And those haven't been used in years. It shows it is a problem of the past. If it were still a problem it would be a poster or billboard somewhere where people goes.

So, because you judge it to be in the past, and in an out of the way place, you reject the authority of Omni-med? *snicker*

Um, seen it last week, on the billboard of a park, warning people against diseases carried by leets. Though I'd rather wash and treat the leets than shoot them. Besides, I don't use weapons.
