Hell yeah!
I'd rather poke my eyes out with a rusty spoon than to make money this way. ;)
I don't want to argue about RL economy with you here.
Fact is, that people rather print money instead of creating a counter value. This is true everywhere in the world, even in online games.
It's silly to keep comparing AO's economy with real life. The creation of new credits is offset by cred sinks in Anarchy.
Between the perk reset guy, new heal kits and stims and city upkeep how many billions of credits a week do you think are extracted from the economy in AO? And these are only a few of the cred sinks.
The notion that bounties destroyed the economy is silly. Look at the difference between rk1 and rk2 and you will see that something happened on rk1 that had nothing to do with bounties.
So thank you all you wannabe economists for destroying an entire community with your lack of common sense. So now we have credit extraction and no new credits being created.
This will only make it easier for the people who have a lot of credits already and harder for the new players and people that have little.
Saw the Xan Green Tuning Device there Means, i see what you did there!
For those who can't read beyond what they want to. Means mentioned they are opting for No repeatable quest that give you Credz.
Also one thing.
The poor cant farm s10...
The poor cant farm s10 as fast as the "rich"...
Same deal, rich is getting richer while poor is getting poorer. (Cuz of credit inflation joo)
For your enfo, at least, ql 200 imps would be better than many symb slots anyway. Especially since you can now do the ql 200 Jobe Imps. I'm always immensely pleased to ding a toon to 100 for precisely that reason.
For relatively cheap but effective armor look to pred, high ql miy's, dpants, and an occasional piece of ofab. The really painful upcoming infantry symbs are the enduring arms and feet, iirc. Feet is always going to be ghastly since the PB that drops it sucks sideways to farm. The arm - well you can use the lower one and eat the slight drop in points. If you don't have orgmates who can help you pop PBs for symbiants, change your org.
I think the point being missed here is that you do not have to have the best gear to be effective. You have to have decent-good gear and know how to use your toolset. Heck, I've healed multiple Arid Rift quest teams on my 202 doc and she still has CFB, Miy's and Merlin on! If you have orgmates or teammates who think you need combined and constant top symbs to be worth playing with, leave them alone and find new ones. Stupid is not correctable. If, however, you personally want the top gear at all times for pride or bragging rights - might as well learn now that it is an expensive and painful proposition.
What in god's name possessed you people to rework all the icons, each time i check this game out after a break, the little will i have to play is gone after i get completely lost in my own inventory.
I understand the reasoning behind changing icons that were shared between several items, but is changing all the other stuff really neccessery?
i'm aware this post probably will be read by maybe two people at most since it's on page 9 (or 10)
but for the two of you, consider this
before s10 got nerfed, how many 220s did you see online and lft?
after the s10 nerfbat beatdown i noticed 2 whole pages of tl7 online and lft, all day and night.
forming a raid was easier than it has ever been, even during off peak time
for that i am happy.
however, i do think removing ice from s10 was a bad idea, perhaps drop the droprate on ice a bit, but please don't remove it. i'd like to be able to afford some ai armor for a few toons some day, and without a steady influx of ice, that wont happen, the value of bots will go through the roof when 90% of the ice and cru that enters the market gets nerfed it reduces frequency of city raids, thus reducing the prevalence of bots
Even in irl economies, people opt to take 'wait and see' methods to determine impact of monetary policies... Fortunately for us, fc hasn't decided on income taxes or other methods to take credits off the market. Each 'credit' that is created, deflates already created ones. Eventually, with a freeze on the s10 credit bubble, the prices of everything will stabilize with actual credits and not infinite theoretical ones. Bounties in s10 and the shop glitch about 6months ago drove the amount of credz ingame up exponentially. (I know I'm late to the dance on this discussion, but nevertheless I cut in)
Being one of these supposed 'veteran' guys, I never made a s10 twink. (laziness) Most of my toons were over 150 when s10 came out. This is not to mean I'm callous to new players. I have on occasion, created a froob char and leveled him w/o xfering funds to see how hard it would be if I was starting out again. I remember the old stuff like blood plasma's and gems pretty quickly. Its a pain to buy implants and nanos as a lowbie because the complit is low and mishs don't provide you with enough creds for leveling things. Would be cool if dyna's actually dropped armor worth wearing today, not 8 years ago. There is so much junk crap armor/weapons in the db it isn't funny.
Also, the old rk weapon being crap in SL is pretty silly too. 1 as a minimum on any weapon below lvl 1 is retardicraptastic.
Players either learn to farm credz to buy stuff they cannot get on their own, or they find a different game. What I would change? Add a lot more new armor/weapons that are nodrop to bosses that leveling chars already kill. Give the bosses in Totw more viable weapons that 1hb/2he ones. To keep them from being Op'd and to help leveling chars, make them stair like sided newcomers/prowler armor. Totw is merely an example, the refresh should happen across the rk/sl instances/dungies. (increasing xp gains to places like the catacombs would help too)
Heckler Colada is alright for a bit. It gets old when it is all that there is to drink. (sorry different issue there)
-Also, as far as symb prices, I'm pretty sure a lot of them were high due to s10 twinks. They were cheap before s10 and will become cheap again. There are a lot more of them around and demand for them will go down. Would break my heart if they took pb's out altogether and made the pattern mobs a ph for the pb instead with like a 20% chance to spawn per kill instead. There is so much to ao, many things should be streamlined to help new players along without giving everything away via quests (ie wow)
What most people consider 'veterans' here is nothing more than an old player that used to have to do everything because not much was sold via lootrights. Lootrights selling became common place when the population became small. Before everyone bangs on the 'no kidding' (using profanity version) I will point out that a lot of the fixes that have to be done to this game, must be done before the engine/rebal. (for when the population becomes large)
I for one, instead of wanting more nerfs ect, had asking for other changes such as adding bots to s13/28/35 (increases the social factor ingame) and increasing the city/ship droprates (makes doing this less like stabbing your leg with a spoon). Typically if you increase supply, price also drops.
I recall reading about the 'brave new Ao' where they increased droprates and decreased the amount of farming one had to do. This would be neat so we don't have to go hangin' ourselves at the end.
(sorry for massively messy ordinance of repetitive player gibberish)
Knowledge is more power than you think. If you're waiting on fc to 'redistro' income and make you rich... You'll be waiting a long time. Also, just like irl, raising your education can increase your income. Albeit there is no Omni U. Learn what sells and then how to obtain it. IE, find one of those things that everyone buys while leveling.
Yew ca'n Dew Eht!
Don't care about bounties being remove but ICE? WHAAAA?
Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. One of if not the most wanted items in the game is Combined armors. It would be fair to assume alot of people were farming s10 in order to obtain it, either by buying it with the creds or getting the CRU.
Now removing the bounties to curb the cred introduction flow is all well and good but by removing the ICE you are making AI armor even more rare, hense INFLATING the price of it even more than it is now....
So harder to get the creds, harder to get the items to make it and increasing the price of it sounds like a good idea? I feel really sorry for new or even remotely new people, they'll never get on a competitive level. Well they can, they can buy creds off the net, which I'm willing to bet will happen alot now, moreso than it already does.
Why exactly do you think there is still, 10 years on, so many AO cred sites? I mean if they weren't making good profit they wouldn't be in business so clearly there's a market. People buying creds in order to buy items. This tells me there's nothing wrong with the amount of creds in the game, there's a problem with the supply of items. Low supply is what makes the items so unobtainable due to price.
How is making one of the most sort after items in the game even harder to obtain going to help inflation?
I leveled a 220 agent and geared it with creds I made. I made a few friends to farm alba, or lead apf 35 raids and sold pillows (when everyone wanted nano parts). There's always ways to make creds in AO, you just gotta be able to do something where someone doesn't feed it to you :P
I don't get it. How can the dynas you need items from be constantly camped if there's no-one playing anymore? Either there's enough population to keep these areas occupied so you can't do them yourself, or there's nobody around so you can go in without any problems. If the former is true, then maybe try *talking* to the people camping, letting them know your need for items and working out a deal. If the latter, get it yourself. I'm looking from the outside here, not being in this situation, but it doesn't seem that hard to me.
Also, third situation: if there are *just enough* people online to camp these areas, leaving the rest of the game dead, then where are the items from their efforts? Apparently not on GMS, or you could buy them.
It doesn't take many players to camp the few bosses that drop the valuable items, particularly the weapons.
Low drop rate. The few that do turn up on GMS are typically out of the price range of new players.Quote:

I hope the ICE nerf was intentional so we can start farming CRUs on our mains again and make some "safe" cash on the side without spending hundreds of mil on a 150 twink ^^
