This is exactly the same as saying "upto 95% effective". It sounds like you ensure us something but gave no lower bound of anything. So how more profitable is AO becomming at the expense of productivity?

On the subject on AO's profitability I'd be interested in knowing when the in game ads will be returning. I haven't seen one in a long time and on wikipedia it says the company that provided them went out of business a while back. Without them the froobs aren't really paying their share.
One of those years it was going to be Q1.
Which year was that? *SUMMONS ROCKER*
I agree there, Ppl will feel that they pay for a white elephant.
I always tried to back you guys and I know what happened lately is affecting everyone, but this time I agree about saying the engine is for next year is a very bad move.
We have been there too many times.
Bit of a technical question. You mentioned in the update that...
Will this make it possible (or at least easier) to introduce some sort of ingame inventory search? It was implied by Vhab that one of the main limitations on adding such functionality is the BLOB structure, and if you're moving into something easier to work with it seems like that could introduce the opportunity.
Ao doesn't warrant for investment of extra money for engine and other stuff, but it does stay alive which is good to hear. Just have to wait :(
New server is nice to see and it could bring up some new things. I would like to see shopping outside the game as one...
You don't get it. The problem with no producer is the fact that the devs simply won't know when there is too much on their plate.
I mean, no doubt means wanted to get every bit of that content out to us, but without the level headedness of an actual producer, he promised more than he could deliver.
Now that we DO have a producer, I confident that the predictions will be far more accurate as he is most likely limiting decisions, cutting certain things to save time,
and making all those unpopular decisions that -have- to be made. This goes for any game, the developers always say they can put in this little feature, or add that bit of content,
but it's the job of the producer to tell them when enough is enough.
I wasn't even on the team until Q3 2011, and Fia wasn't game director until I joined. I'm not sure what sort of response you are looking for, but I've said multiple times that yes we are all aware that mistakes were made in the past. All we can do now is move forward. Personally, I don't find that bringing up things that were said two or three years ago is that constructive. Because as I said, everyone knows the engine has taken way too long. :)
Illaliya would you mind responding to the question I asked (in an earlier post) regarding whether or not the New Player Experience is still slated to be released this year?
I've gone back and forth a bit, in another thread, regarding priority list vs release order.. ultimately for me, release order is what matters. I'm just curious to know if NPE is still going to be released by the end of this year as you stated a couple weeks ago or if whatever has happened in the past week or so with Funcom has now affected that and it won't be released til after the New Engine (or something else). I guess the whole priority list thing really confused me as I'm not sure how to apply that to release order (if there is even any relation at all).
