Well it would if FC implimented this in the worst possible way imaginable.
Even without vertex shaders, without pixel shaders or any DX8 spiffy stuff you can still do texture+vertex colour and the Yalm simply uses one "shiny" enviroment map.
The full range of 16/32 bit colour (sans alpha) should be available with 0 additional items to load. There is no technical reason to prevent this.
Anything else is just marketing drone.
