In my experience, 90% of all noisy departees return within a week.

Few people make a big show of leaving if they're serious about it. Just log off and be done with it.

Of course, explanations on exactly WHY a person decides to leave are valuable. But random shouts and hoots and flames are not the sign of a person who's actually leaving for good.
